Baseball Injuries

Anybody know the word/status on Calvin Mathews and Tyler Peyton as far as pitching goes? Iowa really needs at least one of these guys, if not both. You certainly don't want to risk a bigger/more permanent injury however

Iowa is currently in 7th in the B1G at 7-8. Michigan State and Minnesota both got sweeps over NW and PSU to move MSU to 8-7 and MInny to 9-9 in the B1G. It makes out Friday loss to NW huge at this point now.

Ohio State is 6-9 in the B1G and we have Purdue and Penn State hanging around as well at 5-10 and 5-9. Iowa has Ohio State, Illinois, and Purdue left.

if Iowa can find a way to win the OSU series they are all but in the B1G tournament IMO. If they lose or get swept the last two weeks will be VERY interesting.

Peytons injury was a sore lat, Mathews with shoulder soreness.

Any insight on a time table for them to return or are they done for the year?

The article i read didnt say anything about how severe the injuries were, but with Reinhart starting Tuesday im guessing one or both wont be able to go this weekend

Well that sucks, especially sitting at 25-15 at this point and a potential B1G tournament spot on the line in the next few weeks.
