1. Both our mens and womens BB teams aren't good against physical teams, especially teams physical at the perimeter. You can blame the refs or we better get tougher and match the physicality...or it will continue to hurt us. It killed both team yesterday.
2. Keegan Murray might be an NBA player, someday...but he plays way too soft right now. And you just cannot dissapear for 3/4 of a game!
3. A lot of teams don't have a rim protector and Iowa certainly does not. However, a team like PSU had a couple bigs inside who weren't shot blockers, but were physical and we just don't have that, either. PR is just not a 5 and not a physical 4 either. Not his fault, that is just the player he is.
4. Too many guys on our BB team are good at 1-2 things, but don't have the full package (Shooting, driving, rebounding, defense). Every team has a few guys like that, we got a roster full of guys like that.
5. Last, in the modern era of BB, elite teams have elite guards and we don't. PSU didn't either, but they were enough better inside at challenging and getting every 50/50 rebound that we could not overcome that. We weren't any elite guard team last year with the best player in college basketball and that is why we got bounced in the second round...until we can recruit a guy like Andre Woolridge...I know, those guys don't come along very often!
