Baylor

Baylor being #1 kind of tells you what the state of college basketball is in right now. I think they would be a 12-8 type of team in the B1G this year after watching their game against ISU. They look average on offense. Defensively they look good - they are able to switch well and play some positionless BB - also they have a guy or two that can rim protect to some degree - but good offensive teams should be able to carve them up as none of that results in overwhelming D that pressures the ball and the shot blocking isn’t elite either.

Iowa St played very sloppy, making lots of unforced errors, missing bunnies, not boxing out, losing control of the ball on their own and having it lead to an easy basket, the coach getting a bad technical foul to give Baylor a ton of momentum, etc. A competently coached power conference level team should be able to have more than a puncher’s chance to beat them on a given night, IMO.

KenPom has them as the #4 team in the country, which would be higher than any Big 10 team. They are very good. Play undisciplined sometimes, but they are really hard to score against. Their resume isn't overwhelming, good non-con wins over Arizona and Villanova. And winning at Kansas by 12 is impressive.

They likely wouldn't be undefeated in the Big 10 as there are more quality teams in the Big 10 compared to the Big 12, but I would peg them as better than 12-8 in conference play.

Was that line really Baylor -4?

Yeah, the oddsmakers have been insanely kind to ISU the past few weeks. I have definitely taken advantage. I also feel as if Iowa hasn't been getting much respect and I have been making money off of that as well.

With that being said the rest of the B1G and Big 12 games I have sucked at... but went 5 for 5 with the Missouri Valley last night and ISU -4 capped off my parlay... so thank you for sucking ISU.

Baylor is a very good team. I wouldn't consider them elite. I'm not sure there's any team that deserves that label this season.

plays like an AAU team. Am I old man yells at cloud? I wouldn't give a bucket of piss for their NCAA chances.
Nah, this is just what basketball is becoming.

Watch the NCAA Tournament this year. If you thought last year was f***ing atrocious as far as teams living and dying by the hero ball 3.....holy f*** are you guys in for a treat in 2020.

No, Baylor wouldn’t go 12-8 in the Big Ten. I think the Big Ten is solid, but I think certain teams way overachieved in the Preseason, ie Ohio State. Illinois is winning the league and lost to Missouri. Michigan State has lost all of their big out of conference games as well. It’s a really good league with really only 2 bad teams but I don’t see a team like Baylor going 12-8.

The way its going so far, none of the 1 seeds will have played a challenging schedule IMO. Could be a weird year where no #1s survive in the tournament. Looks like SD St, Gonzaga are basically locks, then one each of Duke/Louisville and KU/Baylor are the other two 1 seeds at this point.
