The kid has absolutely no chance with one of the worst lines ever.

Accurate.Hope cj traded off sesson.Bobby knows ropes. He got abused regularly when in a Hawkeye uniform, too. At least he's getting paid
If i recall Long threw a long td on his first throw, it was all down hill after that
It was his first, bomb for a td.Not sure if first throw but it was at Tampa. I remember it on the highlight reel.

I seem to recall his first was in garbage time against the Rams, like a 35 yarder. Might be wrong...but I remember seeing it too.
I also remember a MNF game at some point once he became a starter, and it was ridiculously painful to watch, the beating he took. Think it was the Bears when they still had a great defense.
The problem that Long ran into was that when Detroit drafted him they fired their coach and the new coach wanted to run a totally different quick pass offense. So they draft the consensous 1st team AA QB with the 12th pick of the 1st round and then install an offense that he was a very poor fit for. They ended up bringing in Rodney Peete out of USC later who was better suited for the offense. Had Long been selected by anyone of 20 other teams still running a pro set offense, things would probably have been much different. The sheer irony, that Chuck ended up with the Rams backing up Chrissy Evert who was the starter there. Long had out dueled Evert in his Purdue days, and that had to be a bitter pill. But as you said, at least he got paid.I may not be remembering this exactly the way it happened, but it seems the Lions sucked when Long got there and played, he got hurt at the same time they drafted Sanders (and Herman Moore a couple of years later) and he never got his job back. He put up decent numbers for how bad they were.

I feel really bad for CJ because he's absolutely getting murdered out there with 5 sacks and 16 knockdowns today alone. It's a miracle he's not injured yet being sacked 16 times in 4 games now. The Hawks O-line last year might have been better than the 49ers O-line this year. It will be interesting to see how long of a run he will get. My guess is he'll get a chance vs. the Giants next week (perhaps a chance to win at that) then win or lose, the 49ers probably go to Garoppolo after the bye week. Long term, I'm hoping CJB can hang on as a backup for a couple years and eventually find a better team. The kid has absolutely no chance with one of the worst lines ever.

They want the worst record so they're likely gonna keep going with him
BOBBY. Works a off season. Trade pleeeas. At least a couple of his guys took issue with a called late hit and were ejected (to be honest, it was a rather late slide by CJ). Shows how they feel about him and appreciate the beating he’s taken. He is one tough SOB, our CJ.
