Best Brewski OR Cocktail....

Like $35 for the big bottle. Comparable to any top shelf brand. I'm not sure I could pick it out if you gave me a blind test with Absolute, Gray Goose and kettle one, but there is most definitely such a thing as good vodka. The good stuff doesn't have that hair spay flavor and is smooth like water.

All I drink is vodka, minus a few beers here and there, and this has been one of the best (also just $25 a bottle). Russian Standard Platinum. Irina from Irina's in Urbandale got me started on it.

I can't drink the Russian stuff for deeply held political reasons. But thank you.

my fave was a barrel aged scotch ale from central waters. i have a couple more that i'm looking forward to later this fall (too many others to try before i go back to it), but its 'must buy' in my book.

It really is, but not for me so much. Its important to remember what's going on over there and its not like Titos is really a hardship. Have you tried it? Its good American booze.
Titos is very good as well. I use a different brand every weekend usually, I like to mix it up. I got a bottle of Ciroc as a gift I might try this weekend. Never had it, hate P Diddy.

I do love Hendricks. My friend made me a G and T with Plymouth gin the other day, and it was fantastic. Need to track that one down.

Try Deaths Door out of Wisconsin. They sell in MN but not sure about Iowa. It's great. That's my #1 right now followed by Hendricks.

Probably because you regularly hype single speed, which in general is crap. That, on top of you hyping rogue beer, proves your beer taste is not to be followed. Just like your marriage or relationship advice.

And your beer taste is to be followed? No. All you drink are IPA's; which makes you a wannabe, a pretender.

Don't be talking about outside things in a beer/cocktail thread, because we can always talk about how you brought a chef on your honeymoon with your wife. What she should have immediately thought was, "Oh my God, I've have or am about to marry a pussy," The fact that she's actually still married to you proves you were the best she could do and your wife isn't even fit to polish anyone on this boards knob.

Just in case you didn't catch that... I'm saying your wife is ugly.

You're trolling Steve. I just have better things to do than respond in detail.

I like how you revert to "you're trolling" when you don't like what I say. It's like when a turtle pulls his head back into his shell to avoid things.

You are trolling when you come on here and post about TG being overrated. TG has two of the five highest rated beers in the country right now.

When it comes to breweries, the Midwest and Northeast are far superior to anything on the west coast. Any serious beer drinker will tell you that the west coast has a long way to go compared to other MW and NE breweries.

So GTFO with your BS Northwest beer superiority. You may have some of the others around here fooled, but you don't fool me. A serious beer drinker doesn't sit there and bad mouth another person's taste because we realize everyone has different tastes.

Every time you come in this thread and bad mouth someone's taste, I'm going to come on here and put yours down because you're full of it. There isn't one west coast brewery that compares to the best in the MW or NE, not one.

Two shots Early Times, one shot of Master of Mixes Manhattan Mix, one Maraschino cherry with a teaspoon of cherry juice. Stir and pour in a thick Old Fashion glass with ice. A perfect Manhattan.

Spiced rum and ginger ale has been on the menu at our house recently. Not a fancy cocktail by any stretch, but it's a pretty good one.

That's almost a Dark and Stormy, which is a house favorite around here. Just switch out the spiced rum for dark rum and add some lime.
Beer tends to trigger my migraines more and more these days but I can drink rum without much trouble, so there is reason to keep on living.

Calls me a troll. Then proceeds to troll me. Clearly Garry is a normal person in real life.

Right now enjoying Surly from MN, Oscar Blues in CO, and Stone from CA. Had some spectacular local stuff in Portland Maine, but limited on what is available in IA. Cheers

That sounds delicious. I may have to give that a shot.
