What are some good prequel/sequel/trilogy movies you would recommend? I've been on a "marathon" kick lately.

My recents:
The Hustler>Color of Money
Top Gun>Top Gun 2: Maverick
Equalizer>Equalizer 2>Equalizer 3
Matrix>Matrix Reloaded>Matrix Revolutions>Matrix Resolutions.

I enjoy binging them over a day or two.

I saw the 2020 one. Of anything came out afterwards I haven't seen it.

I watched some of those last month. They were better than I was expecting. I wasn't expecting much though.

It was filmed in 2020 but released last year due to covid/general awfulness.
You should try making it through the Hellraiser movies. Those get really tough to sit through. The remake was ok from a couple years ago.

I haven't seen the Ernest movies in years, but I bet time has been somewhat kind to them. I remember that character as good natured & not mean spirited.

The "Has Fallen" series is good as far as mindless action moveis go

The John Wick movies are fun for what they are.
Love the first 3 but I have not watched number 4 so I am rewatching the first 3. Just got done with 1 and one of the greatest things about the movie, in addition to the stylized unique underworld it builds, is how quick and effortlessly he dispatches the punk Russian son (The future Theon Greyjoy) that he set out on for his mission for revenge. No dialogue or drawn out fight. Just perfect and so unexpected.

My suggestions other than those mentioned plus LOTR are:

Star Trek Trilogy: Wrath of Khan, Search for Spock and Voyage Home
Paul Verhoeven Quadrilogy: Flesh and Blood (Unrated as the mainstream is edited to be incomprehensible), Robocop, Total Recall and Starship Troopers
Keanu Trilogy: Point Break, Speed and The Matrix
Modern Horror Anthology: Trick R Treat, Tales of Halloween, and Ghost Stories
Absurdist Gore Action Comedy Trilogy: Turbo Kid, Psycho Goreman, and BrainDead
