I see Iowa State offered him and I know it is a new staff there, but it is just funny after that press conference/ rant CPR had about Lazard and Iowa recruiting him after he committed.

Recruiting kids after they commit is nothing new especially when a commitment is pretty worthless without ink on the paper anymore, but I just found it funny that the screen shot of his twitter I saw was a tweet from a couple days ago where he said he always wanted to be a Hawk, followed by his tweet about Iowa State offering. Then his mom (looks like) saying he is never flipping and he is a born and bred Hawk

Yeah, it just looks funny if you see his twitter page all about Iowa and then the Iowa State pic and tweet.

He does fall both within the "4 hour radius" their new coach said was going to be the emphasis of recruiting, as well as the state of Iowa which he said he was going to lock down. Maybe this is the first step? Based on the current recruiting in Iowa, looks like it will be the 2018 class before much headway is made in Iowa.

I can't blame Iowa State for offering Beyer. He's a very good prospect and an Iowan. Campbell would be a fool not to show interest. He also could be laying groundwork for recruiting the MVC territory.

While I'm quite confident his commitment is solid you just never know when you're dealing with teens.

I agree completely with you. I guess the old regime just made it known that if you touch one of their commits they will call you out with a press conference and parade the kid out for all to see. It would have been funny had this happened with CPR still there to see Kirk throw a little jab in (we all know he wouldn't)

You're right. I was experiencing a brain fart not putting together the identity of CPR.

This is a good thing. Campbell is going to need to get used to being told "no thanks" by Iowa kids who are talented enough to get an Iowa offer. May as well start getting the message pounded in to him right away.

If Campbell starts turning the program around, I imagine there will be Iowa recruits on that side of the state that will go to ISU. In years pass, when Iowa sucked, Nebraska was able to grab some good Iowa recruits away from the Hawks.

I guess the "lock down" talk was pretty funny. First they have to show they are an equal basis before they "lock" any area down. That being said, they are offering a lot of players

You can offer all you want. Offers mean zilch. Signatures are all that count. When Iowa has to worry about being out-recruited by ISU, it's time to fold up the tent in Iowa City.

Good luck with that Coach Campbell.

Give Campbell some credit... he is trying to give ISU fans some things to look forward to. If he doesn't flip the kid... nothing lost. If he does... then Clown fans can feel better. He can' t be stupid. He knows what lies ahead. But getting tOSU leftovers from State of Ohio is a little different than getting kids to come to Ames, Iowa.

They will be better if he can finish games... something CPR could seldom do. A 5-7 record next season is certainly doable. That alone will give hope to ISU fans.

He'll find out what Cael Sandersen did.

It will take time and results before we have to worry about ISU swinging many of our in-state recruits. That is unless the recruit in question has a life long dream of impregnating cattle!
