Says they are looking to make a decision on Tracy, Geil and Ragiani on whether they will play them more than 4 games. Says Tracy has been doing some really good things in practice at WR and RB.

Somebody has to separate themselves at WR...I mean REALLY separate themselves. If Tracy and Rag look that good...get em some reps. And more importantly THROW TO THEM.

Said wide receivers have made some of the offenses biggest plays this year and that the team needs them to make more.

Yep. If not, they're just setting him up for a transfer.
He was practicing with the higher teamers earlier ... but that was also because of Ivory's injury. Not that we're back to having 3 healthy RBs ... hopefully, they can keep Geil to just 4 games. Besides, on the flip side, if they think that they can give Tracy more reps ... he can potentially give us some depth at RB if they slide him over (if the need arises).

That's on the QB ... that's not really on the coaches. The QB has to have trust that the guy will make the play. If the QB doesn't trust the guy as much ... he's less likely to try to distribute the ball to him.

Jerry Rice and Randy Moss could fall in Brian Ferentz' lap and he wouldn't have a clue what the hell to do with them.
I understand that you're just trolling ... but I'll bite, just to humor you.

Look at how Brian attempted to center the O around Wadley and Fant last year. He went out of his way to get Wadley the ball in space ... and to move Fant around in terms of formations and positioning in order to get favorable match-ups.

To say that Brian isn't trying to utilize our best playmakers demonstrates a poor football IQ.

Did BF explain why he went with the QB sneak from the four, even after the long review? That, seriously, may have been the biggest play of the game. It completely changed momentum, not to mention the seven points it kept off the board. As great a game as he called most of the night, that call would haunt me for years.

QB sneak has almost always been money but not at that distance after a timeout. Really bad call and he should have been asked to answer to it.

Brian really needs to do work on the redzone offense. Learn some new plays. Fant needs fade opportunities and Brandon Smith needs a jump ball. Get creative on the OLine. Let Ross work - he is an asset out of the backfield, on dives, and around the goal line. Toren should be used as the goalline back and let him vulture all of IKM and Sargent's TDs.

Do something different than we have traditionally done because what we traditionally have done in the redzone has not been impressive.

I know that Fant and Smith are great athletes with good size...but fades/jump balls in the red zone traditionally have a very poor success rate.

Playing Geil seems like a waste with 3 good SO backs. If I am Geil I would want to be featured 2 years. At WR, we are so sadly pedestrian it makes sense to throw talent at it and see who emerges. But as HawkDrummer said, THROW TO THEM!

If the receivers are showing promise in practice, I say play them all and make them prove themselves!
Not sure why we would go with a 4th rb though(unless injury bug bites bad)

I don't know if Geil is explosive or not. The problem is rightly or wrongly if you fumble under KF many times you are in the doghouse for quite a long time. So sometimes I wonder if these younger guys when getting close to any contact are making sure that ball ain't coming out and maybe don't hit the hole as hard or go down a tad easier. Trust we all know ball security is important and even more so with our type of offense but sometimes I wonder if guys get more worried about that than anything else.

For some reason, BF not taking the redshirt off an athlete that could really help his stagnant offense reminds me of Todd Lickliter banking scholarships.

If you think Jerry Rice and Randy Moss could play Big Ten football at their age, you sir are the one without a clue.

Think so, the 17 point one.
Wisconsin has a good D and has fielded a highly rated scoring D for years. We had 2 squandered red zone appearances within the 10 yard line ... and we lost out on 2 possessions due to special teams turnovers.

The O had been moving the ball ... contrary to what the prior poster had stated. Furthermore, the poster was trying to suggest that personnel hadn't been well utilized. The fact that we didn't score TDs in the aforementioned 2 possessions was largely attributable to player execution (and fine play by the opposing D).

Anyhow, given the precedent that we had some decent success rushing the ball in the red-zone (as evidenced by 7 prior rushing TDs) ... it is unfortunate and somewhat unexpected that we failed to have the same success against Wisconsin.

4&1 but more like 4&1.5 but you wouldn’t have known from the sidelines only if you are up in the coaches box
