With all the stink about Iowa's schedule here are the "big dog's" of the Big 12 non conference schedule: Talk about inflating records and rankings....these are so horrible! Here are the non conference schedules of all 4 of the ranked Big 12 schools

Oklahoma state: Central Michigan, Central Oklahoma, and texas san-antonio
Baylor: SMU, Lamar and Rice
Oklahoma: Akron, Tennessee(not bad), Tulsa
TCU: Minnisota (OK team) , SMU, Stephen F Austin

Here are some comparisons from other conferences.

Alabama: USC Trojans, Western KY, Kent State, Chattanooga
LSU: Wisconsin, Jacksonville State, Southern Mississippi, South Alabama
Georgia: North Carolina, Nicholls State, Louisiana Rain Cajins, GA Tech
Florida: U Mass, N Texas, Presbyterian, Florida State

Clemson: Auburn, Troy, So Carolina State, So Carolina
Florida State: Old Miss, Charleston Southern, USF, Florida
North Carolina: Georgia, Illinois, James Madison, Citadel
Virginia Tech: Liberty, Tennessee, East Carolina, Notre Dame

Stanford: Kansas State, Notre Dame, Rice
Oregon: UC Davis, Virginia, Nebraska
USC: Alabama, Utah State, Notre Dame
UCLA: Texas A&M, UNLV, BY

Michigan State: Furman, Notre Dame, BYU
Ohio State: BowlingGreen, Tulsa, Oklahoma
Northwestern: Western Michigan, Illinois State, Duke
Iowa: Miami (OH), Iowa State, South Dakota State

The Big 12 has a 9-game conference schedule so it is a little different-they have 9 P5 opponents built in.

Look at the SEC west this year for a perfect example of inflated records. They played 5 power 5 teams ooc and only 1 ranked team in Wisc. Had loses to Memphis, Toledo, and Texas Tech. Then the middle teams played the bottom of the SEC east which was terrible.

By comparison the Big 10 West played 9 power 5 ooc and a team in each of the 4 ccg's on Saturday and TCU. Then Ill, Minn and NE had to play Mich, MSU and OSU. End the end the west ended up having two wins over top 6 teams.

How many teams on Bama's schedule would have winning records if they played a comparable schedules?

Which of the final four playoff teams had the toughest schedule? Oklahoma.

Having said that, I agree that the non-conference schedules of those teams were weak. But the conference schedules were definitely not.

Says who? The only team they have played that was remotely decent out of the Big 12 was Tennesee.....I guess we will find out soon but just because they beat some overrated Big 12 Teams does not make their schedule the best....I would argue that MSU had a way tougher schedule

I was basing that on a story in this morning's C.R. Gazette handicapping the playoffs. I don't follow the various "power ratings" closely enough to make that kind of determination on my own.

Oklahoma plays Houston and Ohio State next year. Thats legit. Also looks like the Big 12 didn't back load their schedule as much as they did this year.

Iowas non conferences schedule is ish....

B12 just announced today a requirement for each team to schedule an OOC P5 opponent. So things should improve.
