Colorado is in the Big XII.

It was a non conference game. It doesn’t count towards standings when it was in a tournament.

Auburn, CU, Dayton were all part of the Maui invitational and weren’t scheduled. Iowa is always scheduled. Marquette part of the big East/Big 12 challenge and was assigned.

Iowa State scheduled literally none of those games on its own.

Maui is always top notch talent. Scheduling that tournament is signing up for 3 very good opponents

If there is one thing I have learned in my 25 years on these boards, there is nobody who hates Iowa more than the lunatic fringe of the Iowa fan base.

every team in the country plays these games.

Butler has had a pretty tough schedule. Of course they are not dong that well. I think Izzo at MSU has usually pursued a tough shedule to improve his team.

Iowa would be doing great if we were 3-0 vs Quad1 opponents vs 0-3. I do agree with the OP that the home games vs these 200-350th ranked teams are not entertaining and mostly snooze fests and do nothing to improve the team---but they do fill up the schedule and make money.

However Iowa will have a lot of conference games to build up the schedue toughness.

Anyway the boring part of the season is over.
