Things are officially underway. We just had a chance to visit with Gary Barta for a few minutes prior to the start of the event.
Barta said they are up to 36K in season tickets. They have had a rise of about 5K in the past few months. Thinks it has to do with outreach that they have made. Said student tickets continue to run head of last year's totals.
Talked to him about the recent survey that many basically made fun of. He said he wasn't intending to put other aspects of athletics ahead of winning. He said winning has always been #1 for him, but he also places a high value to academics and doing things the right way.He said he wasn't trying to place those values ahead of winning. Feels all three are important.
Also asked him about the possible wrestling meet at Kinnick and he said there will be an announcement a week from today on it. Would not confirm or deny anything regarding the meet.
