I thought Garcia and Wolf deserved 1st team.kaufmann ...not so much

MSU was a team without a true star.
Good to see that approach work.
Nick Martinelli of Northwestern led the league in scoring (20.2 ppg and 6.2 rpg) and got only second team.

why do you think Kaufman didn’t? He averaged 19.7 - 6.1 - 2.3 on 61% FG

Wolf was 12.9 - 9.7 - 3.1 on 50% FG

Garcia was 19.1 - 7.5 - 2 on 47% FG.

This is an Iowa Hawkeye Bottom feeder thread.

Take it easy Boiler....you sound desperate. Kaufman was a system player---he'd be less effective in other systems. If your Boiler's had two of the best players in B1G, then you woudn't have finished in 4th place. Unless you want to go record and tell us the other 3 guys were total turds.

So much for having 3 first team all Big Ten players on this team as some suggested at the beginning of the season.

Congrats to Sandfort for the honorable mention.

We have the only member of the All-B1G Team under 6'0, 160lbs, with short arms club.

We have a guy that played great but looked like he was depressed/sad the entire season---hopefully things work out, he was a heck of a player for Iowa, probably gone.

We have a bench guy that earned Most Years ever on Scholarship while playing the least but cheering the most

We have a hometown hero that finally got a chance to shine

I'm sure there are other categories we won. Fran has to be nearing highest career earnings while never sniffing a Sweet16.

I’m not upset at all. Just curious. System player. Interesting…. Seems to me like he’d be good at a lot of places, but maybe I’m wrong.

The supporting cast wasn’t great outside of Loyer. Cox and Harris will be fine. They are freshman. Heide and Colvin had a real shooting slump in the season. Next year have another wing that redshirted.

Really missed Jacobson, starting center who got hurt in game two. The defense suffered without a 7’4 rim protector. Purdue should be better next year. Lost the National player of the year, their starting center, and still almost got a double bye.

I’d you think the supporting cast was consistently good, you didn’t watch Purdue. There were plenty of games where the big 3 would score all but maybe 5-10 points.

In all games.

In conference only games, Nebraska's Brice Williams led the league at 20.7 ppg (Martinelli 20.4).

It's the only bright spot in Husker hoops this year, let me have this one. :)

Is it telling that I can't figure out who #3 is?

Maybe you can answer this- When is the last time a team won the BIG regular season and didn't have at least a 2nd teamer?

1 player receives accolades. Ouch.
Kind of. I'm sure thats WAY below what his expectations were coming into the year. Not exactly heading "to the league" in style. And no Freeman either? Last years freshman of the year, and not even an Hon mention? I wonder if they thought he could lave played through his injury as well...

His #s better than I thought.
I was just thinking PU was not good enough to have poy and another 1st teamer.
I thought wolf's #s were better but not so great for a team that had success.
I watched Garcia take over some games with little help from teammates.

Honestly, I was shocked by wolf’s numbers as well. I’d have put him on first team over Goldin, but now I can see why he didn’t make it

I'll say what some are thinking. No way Payton deserves post season honors, given the year he has had. As SD mentioned, his shooting percentages are in the toilet, except FTs, and there is no denying that he is a below-average defender (being kind). Dix should have been honorable mention instead of Payton IMO. Payton has been an outstanding player for his career, and given us some great moments, but this year he has just not been good.

Somewhere Lickliter is probably flexing a little because he had _2 honorable mention All-Big Ten players (Coaches) named before _he got fired.
Beat me to it - I was thinking this HAS to be a ‘Lickliter’ level of low for the program…😢

Side note: Rutgers might be pretty salty in a couple years…
