Big Ten Men's Scores, Final Standings and Tournament Schedule (3/9)

? I'm not following you.

In an 18 team league in which each team plays 20 games, the maximum number of teams that can finish with a winning record is 9.

Can you explain how having 7 teams with winning records at this point in the season supports the idea that the league is mediocre-ish?

Check last years Big 10 standings.

Which of these teams will likely join Washington and sit out the B1G Tournament?

12. Iowa (13-8, 4-6)
13. Northwestern (12-8, 3-6)
13. Rutgers (10-10, 3-6)
15. Minnesota (11-10, 3-7)
15. Penn State (13-8, 3-7)
17. Nebraska (12-8, 2-7)
18. Washington (10-10, 1-8)
With Barnheiser out and Freeman out, NW and Iowa are much more likely to not get in the BTT. The games remaining against Washington and NW will be very important for Iowa to make the BTT. They might need one more, depending on tie breakers. Unless Payton suddenly gets out of the funk he has been in and everyone else (except Koch and Freeman) are available, Iowa isn't likely to do anything in the BTT, even if they get in. Sad season that seemed promising at the start.

Penn State beating Nebraska, move to 1 game behind Iowa in wins if they hold on

Updated after 3/9 games

thanks for doing this.

what a log jam at the bottom of the standings!

7 teams with 13 or more conference losses. Yikes.

12. Iowa (16-15, 7-13)
12. Minnesota (15-16, 7-13)
12. Nebraska (17-14, 7-13)
12. Northwestern (16-15, 7-13)
12. USC (15-16, 7-13)
17. Penn State (16-15, 6-14)
18. Washington (13-18, 4-16)

How did the tiebreaker work in the seedings?
The tiebreaker for three or more teams is based on round-robin record, Minnesota emerged on top of that with a 3-1 record, followed by Northwestern at 3-2. USC went 2-2 and Iowa went 3-3.

Nebraska was 1-4 amongst that group after losing five straight to end the year. Went from a NCAA Tournament lock to missing the Big Ten Tourney.

I will say the hugs and respect shown by Iowa when Juwan Gary fouled out today was all class. Kudos.

Have you ever seen something like this before? Not sure that I have. Great sportsmanship.
