Missed PI aside, I've contemplated doing this for some time but after today I'm going to look into how many holding penalties have been called on our opponents over the last couple of years when playing Iowa.

Too many obvious misses. Time to see where we're at compared to other Big Ten teams.

Every team in every conference gets jobbed by the refs occasionally and statistically speaking it evens out, I assume most of you are above this silly ref stuff. Prove me right.

I don't recall ever seeing a game with officiating as biased in favor of Iowa, as today's game was biased in favor of Northwestern... (If you have, please link a video of such a game, I'd like to take a look at it.)... which is why I was talking about today's game.*

But I suspect you knew that.

*Iowa is not good, and probably would have lost anyway.

I'm certainly not blaming the refs for Iowa's loss in any way, shape, or form. This is completely on the coaches and the players.

However, at the same time I can state with near certainty these refs were extremely bad and made a lot of mistakes, the direction of which appeared very one sided in my opinion.

Is it possible the poor officiating adversely affected Iowa? It's difficult to say, but it certainly didn't cause Iowa to lose.
 
This is the crew that Bo P went crazy on in Iowa game couple years ago the linesman Steve Mataiante is the one Bo hit with his hat.Neb hates this crew lead by Jerry Mcginn

If you guys didn't have a roughing the snapper penalty or defensive holding on your nose tackle on a run play you have nothing to complain about.

I know Nuance always escapes Nebraskans, but I'll try one more time:

Iowa is bad, and would have lost anyway.

Also, the officiating was atrocious.
 
We probably wouldn't have hung on anyway, but we got royally screwed by the refs on a huge call today in Lincoln. Feel your pain. :(

You must be too young to remember the Outback Bowl vs. Florida. This game pales in comparison. I'm sure there are YouTube clips of it. The penalty on Solomon when he was getting pulled to the ground by his facemask, the multiple missed 12 players on the field for Florida and the phantom offsides call on the recovered onside kick. There were other bad calls besides those.

No, i remember that game well. I would call that game, and today's game as the top 2 biased (against Iowa) officiating games I've seen.

So yeah, incredibly biased against Iowa. I was asking if anyone knows of a game that was comparable, in being ridiculously biased IN FAVOR OF Iowa?

For anyone at the game, it was the worse officiated I remember over the last 30 years. I don't know what it looked like on tv.

iowa fans don't throw crap on the field unless it's really bad. Two clear BS chants by the students, never heard the refs booed for so long and so loud during and after the game. Sure we played like crap but refs horrible. It was so bad it fed the fans to the loudest 4th quarter I remember with us playing so bad.

The replay system looks like crap too reviewing plays on the field. Nothing is going to get overturned in a 30 second review on a 9 inch display.

Yeah we played like crap but somewhat balanced playing field would be appreciated

Todays game wasn't even close to the Outback bowl. It wasn't close to the Michigan screw job that happened to us earlier that season either. With that said, today was a major screw job just not the level of the Michigan and Florida rapes.

That was the WORST SCREW JOB I have EVER SEEN!! The back judge is from Oregon Wisconsin and hates the Hawkeyes and has screwed the Hawks many many times in past games! He should be BANNED FROM REFFING IN COLLEGE BALL AS SHOULD THIS ENTIRE REF CREW!!! Anyone that watched that game and didn't see the missed holding calls, the pass interference calls not called on NW face masks....you can just keep going on and on...these refs were not pathetically bad....... I think they were intentional!!! That's the only explanation!!!
