Illinois
Welcome to Campaign Lovie Smith, where coaches’ careers end. However Coach Smith will get Illinois off to a quick start with close wins against Murray State and Western Michigan this 2016. The Western Michigan win will be a heart attack game where offense is key. Rebuilding the Illinois program will take time, sweat and stress in 2016 with Coach Smith but that team building will lead to big wins against Minnesota and Northwestern behind. 4-8 in the first season under Smith is a good start.

The Hawkeyes will struggle in New Jersey versus Rutgers, but will win. The Gophers will slide by the Hawkeyes by a special teams play late in the game in Minneapolis.
