Both Iowa and Pitt are 2-0 coming in. Night games are always electric.

Cook will see Iowa's fans at their best. Now let's get our third win!

Hope Daniels and Ott are back. Otherwise, it might be Iowa's fans at their worst. I heard Lute Olson is supposed to be there. Anyone know if that's true?

I'm no doctor but I would imagine Drew Ott will not play and LeShun Daniels will play. The atmosphere should be great and I hope Mr. Cook will be suitably impressed.

Would love to hear the student section doing a cheer like "we want Tyler" or something like that. I remember the crowd at Carver chanted "Reggie Evans" when the Hawks were recruiting him and he was impressed.

I don't want to be "that guy", but the same thing was done for Ulis.

It couldn't hurt to hear your name chanted by 25000 or more people. Might not guarantee success but it sure won't hurt.

Make sure his picture appear on the big vid boards a few times also.

Since it's an open forum, I'll butt in and mention that I think that your repeated comments about Cook being a Missouri lean, according to the Missouri board, have kind of cast a suspicion as to your intent. I know I have some suspicions that way as well. The first time you posted about Cook rumors I took it to be just somebody talking. I checked the Missouri boards and found no such comments and in fact more on them moving on to another PF target.

But then you posted the same thing, that Cook might be a Missouri lean. That's when I started wondering. And I took your comment about Olson being the best bench coach in history to be a sarcastic comment.

How about nobody get banned? But learn to post links to backup your comments. And be clear what you mean when you post:

"Wow, Lute Olson. That's huge. The greatest bench coach in the history of basketball.", you do get how that sounds like sarcasm don't you?

Time to start sending some positive juju Tyler's way... Have a great visit in what should be an electric atmosphere in one of the great cities in America - Iowa City!

I haven't see this posted on this board but Cook is formally down to IA, AR, and FL. I was most worried about MO given proximity, home state, his HS girlfriend, etc. He's too real to be swayed by the FL nonsense. I don't think AR is a player at the end of the day.

I'm feeling it. He's coming aboard and going to help the Hawks do some serious damage in the B1G (the best conference in the country no dispute) and NCAA.

I'm calling it right now!

From the Hawkeye Report front page, looks like Christian Negron is visiting this weekend as well as Tyler Cook. That would be a nice haul.

Negron is not visiting this weekend, He'll be here the following weekend.

That's when we play Univ. of North Texas

AJ Epenesa will be here, too. The Epenesas live about 20 minutes away from Tyler Cook and he and AJ were AAU teammates.
The plot thickens again.

Isn't there another player that Fran just offered that played with Cook?

We all know the 247 "experts" are often wrong but 5 are now predicting Cook going to IA - all within the last 2 days. 4 of them evidently didn't get the word that Cook has eliminated MO according to Tyler's mom. Again, they're often times wrong but another positive data point.

Thanks, just curious. Where did you hear about MO being out? That is huge, imo.

I heard that Tyler Cook's mother told Rob Howe that in an interview yesterday. I got that info second hand in that I didn't hear the interview personally.

Arggghh, and he's a Premium Site. Thanks...gotta be some truth to it. I believe opening up the St. Louis area with a guy like Cook is just as important as Chicago.

Pretty promising. St Louie would also be a very nice place to have some recruiting connections.

Opening up a pipeline with a few of the AAUs in Chicago and STL would be absolutely huge. If you could nab one guy from one of those markets each class, sprinkle in the talent from this state and then bring in a one off kid from Minnesota or the coasts and we will be very solid. I like that we've been working on some kids from Mac Irvin Fire in Chicago and now a couple STL Eagles. Those inroads will pay major dividends eventually.

Allhawkeyes.com has a few free podcasts on their site every week. I think Howe mentioned this about Cook on wednesday's podcast.

The 247 experts are now predicting 70% in Iowa's favor.

To be fair, MO only has 2 now, and those were made in April and July. IA is up to 7 predictions now.

247 seems to follow certain patterns. Oh, this recruit's from MO. Therefore some predictions for MO. Oh, there's been scuttlebutt for this recruit going to X university on message boards. Some predictions for X university. I'm a little more confident in the long-term progression of Cook's recruitment. That seems to be for Iowa to play a major factor.

Cook would be the best Bball recruit they have landed in several years. Seem like there must be a hunch he is going to commit on his visit as the Iowa guy on 247 picked him to Iowa and he seems to wait until he has some information to go on before making a pick.

Looks like a few national writers are getting on board with what we’ve told you for weeks, Tyler Cook to Iowa is pretty likely.

Snelling is pretty dialed in and spot on. He wouldn't Tweet that if he didn't have good information. Of course, with any high school kid things can change until signatures are obtained. Fran and Co. could really use a bit of momentum in landing a big fish like Cook.

I've only been following him for 3 weeks or so but he seems to know what's going on. Being from St. Louis he's obviously tuned in to what's going on at Missouri.

Temperatures are rising on Cook to Iowa. We should know more early next week. Huge opportunity for the coaching staff and team to make a solid imprint tomorrow. Credit to McCaffery for laying the groundwork on Cook. Hopefully, this weekend is the final walkthrough before Tyler Cook buys into what McCaffery is selling.

What I like best, assuming he commits, Fran will be bringing in 6'8, 6'8 and 6'9 to go along with a PG. Consider this, Bohannon will be the only guy on next year's roster shorter than 6'4.

I remember last year they had LaChance coming to Iowa and Uhl signing with Temple literally days before they made their final decisions. Don't know their overall track record, but I certainly wouldn't accept their opinions as gospel.

Oh, and Ott got hit by a truck awhile back and it didn't even faze him. I wouldn't count him out of the Pitt game just yet.

Anyone have info on the schedule for the visit this weekend? They usually come in on Friday right? Just curious if the sever weather both in IC and between IC and STL has any impact on Cook's ability to get into town. Supposed to be gorgeous the rest of the weekend, but would hate to have his visit condensed due to weather.

He's not traveling via wagon so he shouldn't have to worry about fording any swollen rivers.

This would be a huge get for the Hawks. Would be a very impressive front line. Last year Fran brought in a lot of athletic wing players and this year the focus is on the front line.
