First off this Hawks baseball team is fun to watch. I live in Omaha and got a chance to attend first game (and win) Tuesday morning and our fans were great.
Now as most of my fellow Hawks that live in Omaha or anywhere near you'll understand my rant here....as I've had many rants on Omaha WH (weird herald) newspaper (i.e., Husker Illustrated).
Nebraska and Omaha campaigned hard to get this event in Omaha, with all kinds of promises of support it would get. Yea as long as Huskers are involved thats true as WH only writes about Huskers...you'll find in today's edition a small smidget about Iowa and Michigan. You wouldn't even know any other teams played unless you hunt off the front sports page to find where they buried it.
On top of that BTN blesses it's listeners with Kevin Kuglar (Omaha native and Husker cheerleader) to call the games....wish I had a dollar for every time he says "huskers" during any broadcast when they aren't even playing...he does that in basketball or football game as well.
Go Hawks!!
