Is Kriener our only big man who can hit that mid range shot? What about the ones coming in next year?Love those dunks and close in shots, but also loved that timely Kriener basket last night.

Don't see that at all. I think if Kreiner makes marked improvement in the offseason, he'll play a significant role next year. Fran's already said he doesn't plan to redshirt Garza or Nunge next year, and I doubt that changes, unless something happens.Living in the mid-range isn't a winning formula. The best offenses shoot point-blank shots (layups or dunks), 3-pointers and free throws. A player has to make a very big % of 2-point jump shot to make it a valuable shot. I like the fact that Kriener can hit the jumper, don't get me wrong.
Really no idea how Fran finds meaningful minutes for all the bigs next year. 1 and perhaps 2 of them could redshirt I would guess.

Kreiners 12 to 15 ft jumper could be a valuable weapon next year. Can see him at the high post, feeding Cook or Pemsl, or shooting the open look. Good high low action, is another way to get point blank shots, without a guard penetrating the lane.
No I totally agree, Fran has a dilemma for next year, albeit a good one. Just think as the skill level of frontcourt players continues to upgrade, Wagner and Uhl will see their minutes diminish. Having said that, I'm not in Frans chair, and love the effort Wagner brings most nights. He played his butt off again wednesday. Tough decisions for Fran, but thats another reason these coaches make the big bucks. What is a significant role? I'm not trying to be difficult, just people need to realize more minutes won't magically appear. Cook, Pemsl and Wagner all will be back. As will Uhl, at this point. There are 80 minutes per game to go around for the 2 bigs. Cook, if his defense continues to get better, is going to be on the floor for 25-30 minutes if he's not in foul trouble. Pemsl will get a minimum of 15 minutes a game (probably more). Wagner will get anywhere from 12-20 minutes a game. If either Garza or Nunge breaks through there are more minutes to be divided, without even counting Uhl.
Kriener's skill set is interesting. The fact that he can shoot is a big plus. If he can play defense without fouling and get a little quicker in his movements/decision-making he could take a big step.
