Correct. This is why I refuse to check race boxes on all forms. Please join me.
Not that any of this bothers me but how would ultra violet light change genetics?
UV light is linked to skin cancer. In tropical regions, those with genetically darker skin tended to avoid cancer so darker skin evolved as a defense mechanism against exposure.

Isn't skin cancer something that takes a little long to prevent a person from reproducing?
What if it isn't the other way around that skin pigment became more pale to help with cold winter weather in Europe and modern day Russia.
Also that doesn't exactly explain anything other then skin pigment. Given that there are notable physical differences between people of different races other then skin pigment what caused these?
Also what of the variety of races found in Asia? Native Americans both from the area that became the US but also natives from Alaska and Canada? Plus natives from what is now Latin America and the islands of the Caribbean.
Listen I agree it's more or less social construct, we can all reproduce with one another, the differences are more or less minor and when a person has parents of 2 different races it makes no sense in how we try to racially identify him/her with only one race.
All of that said, I think he's over simplifying a bit and there is probably a good deal of mystery around it as well.
He only had a paragraph. Would've been pretty hard to fit all the ins and outs of human evolution in there. You may have missed his point
Sorry, Bill Nye has been completely Baptized into the Church of Climate Change. I have no respect for him any more. He's really nothing more than a "celebrity" now days and is no longer a scientist.

They won't believe it because it does not fit their narrative. Some one needs to tell black lives matter

Unless they are pure Aryan stock all the way back to Jesus, they are mongrels. Not that any of this bothers me but how would ultra violet light change genetics?
Ultimately I agree with him in that I view race as ultimately a social construct. This is because if a person has parents of 2 different races we tend to inexplicably assign a single race to them anyways.
