Allows for planning. As a kid, I knew when we were leaving and knew within 10 minutes when we’d be home.
One of the most extraordinary things I've noticed about catholics over the years is that they have fine-tuned, to an almost incomprehensible degree, the ability to arrive and be seated at mass no more than about a second or two before the service starts.
As a kid, i knew when we were leaving for methodist church, but had no idea whatsoever when we'd get home, given the coffee social that occurred after the service.

They changed the name of the base to "Fort Liberty," so that should fix the problem.
