Elton John once said Bruce Hornsby aka Spider Fingers is the best piano player. That’s who my vote goes to
Bruce Hornsby was at DSM "Nightfall on the River" a few years back. Had to miss due to an out of town wedding but would have loved to see him.

Hornsby's musical and piano abilities are vastly underrated.

Saw Elton last month in Atlanta in front of 75,000 people, and that reinforced the accuracy of my vote for him. That's not a knock on Billy, he's also a terrific performer, but he has a show coming up in a couple of weeks at the same venue, and they're still out there hustling tickets for it. Elton's show was sold out a year and and a half before it occurred.

Billy Joel is awesome, and this was a really good poll.

But, Joel could only dream of writing songs as good as anything on Tumbleweed Connection.
Tumbleweed Connection is a top 10 album all time for me.

I chose Elton but I do love me some Billy Joel as well.

I gotta go Elton John just based on Tiny Dancer and Rocket man.. but the Stranger is probably me favorite album among them.

I like them both. Billy Joel by just a little. It’s like arguing John Lennon vs Paul McCartney.

To be fair, it is also his farewell tour. Elton played his last concert date ever in North America at Dodger stadium this weekend. You are lucky man to have seen this concert!

I've seen him a few times over the years. Always a great show.

I watched most of that Dodger Stadium show and it's shocking how he's lost his voice. I know it's age, but it makes me sad.

We saw him in Nashville last month and noticed the same thing. He claimed it was a COVID leftover. He couldn't sing the really high notes (Crocodile Rock) and let the audience do it for him.

So you're saying Taylor Swift is the greatest artist of all time?

I like people who can actually write a song. Elton's best work is mostly pop, though I must say I did actually get a kick out of his experience in Kingsman 2. Joel's catalog is a little broader and more thoughtful, IMO.

I’m a fan of both and of every single song these two have ever sung.
Billy and Elton are hugely entertaining and frankly their sleeping arrangements are of zero relevance.
