BMW recalling more than 390,000 vehicles due to airbag inflator issue

How is Takata still in business and selling inflators? That company has been responsible for tens of millions of recalled vehicles.
In June 2017, Takata filed for bankruptcy and was acquired by Key Safety Systems, who took over most of Takata's assets. However, Takata was required to continue operating its airbag inflator business until the recall and replacement program was complete.

BMW = Break My Window!
That randomly reminded me of a woman I used to work with about 30 years ago. She drove a 3-series and one night we got freezing rain that left a layer of ice on vehicles. In the morning she tried to scrape the ice off and the back window shattered. She took it to the local BMW dealership for repair and when she arrived there were already three other Beamers in line ahead of her with shattered back windows.
