Bobby Disco. UCONN

On top of that KF is a UConn grad so I would think he would try to help him. I think it would be interesting to know what Disco's relationship is with KF and Iowa..

Yep. Bobby is dead to me.

Of course, he may not even be the one voting. If it was his SID, I will Lasarus his ass right back into the world of the living.

Ummmm, pretty much every FBS coach has admitted that either an assistant ranks the teams or more commonly, some know-nothing in the A.D. casts the vote. But the Christmas spirit of anger and intolerance is more fun to read than anything complimentary to a Hawkeye who has left blood on the field. Obviously posting on a message board requires more sacrifice.

Wasn't the final coaches poll after the bowl bids were announced?
No, the USA Today coaches poll came out at 1 Eastern (and was earlier that day) and the bowl bids for the Big 6 games were @ 3 p.m. officially.

The other aspect is that only after the final coaches vote is their ballot disclosed on how they voted. Fortunately, the committee always felt better about Iowa than some coaches and sports writers.

If anybody is overreacting, it's not me (looking at you.) Obviously I (nor any other sane person) would wish death for the vote a college football poll. In fact, I'm the one that brought up the idea that Bobby may not have been the one that voted Iowa 8th. Then said he is back if he indeed he isn't the one that voted Iowa lower than deserved.

Bobby was an awesome Hawkeye. If he is the one voting, then he should no longer be considered one. That said, as you and I both mentioned, there is a chance it wasn't him.

This thread turned out to be very funny. Love the b disco picture. Any of you have a fro in the 70's? Fess up now!!

An awesome Hawkeye? I don't remember a linebacker getting stood up and backpedalling as much as Bobby D.

I also recall him racking up tackle stats by jumping on the pile 5-10 yards down the field and getting an assist. There seemed to be a lot more hype than what you would see with your eyes.

His nickname out of high school was "The Cheeseburger kid" due to his fondness for them. Funny how I remember that all these years later after reading an article in the paper version of Voice of the Hawkeyes. God that was forever ago.

Do people really pay attention to where certain coaches (more like SID's) rank teams in the coaches poll?
