What are the point of these commercials? I've been seeing them in the morning while getting ready for work. Is this just Jindal trying to get his name out there in Iowa to see how popular he is for a presidential run? They just seem odd and don't really have any message except religious people feel violated. Not sure why he felt the need to run them.

Lots of religious conservatives attend Iowa Republican caucuses. He's probably trying to win them over from supporting Huckabee or Santorum.

Because religion is apparently under attack in this country, and specifically in Iowa. What with the gays getting all uppity and such.

Didn't the Iowa legislature make a big deal out of holding some kind of religious freedom summit or something just recently? And this was shortly after a bunch of them boycotted a Wiccan priestess/witch/what-have-you giving the morninig invocation at one of their sessions

War on religion is the first card in every Republican candidates hand this election season. Gonna play it right away.

Gays don't get uppity. Blacks get uppity. Gays get pushy.

the first tenant of communism is to get rid of religion, make everyone think big daddy government is the king of kings

Obama is a communist and anti-American and anti-religion

the gop honestly thinks they are fighting an enemy who is against america and against religion

You see, your paranoia is manifesting again. You cannot accurately define communism and claim it's an apt description of Obama and the democrats. Part of your problem (among many) is that you use the term 'religion' as a euphemism for Christianity.
Furthermore, nobody in their right mind truly believes Obama is anti-American.

I strongly recommend you go to your doctor today and have a med check.

Serious question for you Lone(and others who identify with the GOP): if the GOP wants to focus strictly on fiscal issues, why do so many candidates continue to bring up religion and "family values?"
They can't win on fiscal issues if there's any serious debate on them. So you spit out your bumpersticker memes on the free market and how only private enterprise can create jobs and how we have to cut spending - and then shift to religion and safe GOP ground before anyone can ask what you actually want to do on those other issues.

I was thinking the first tenant of communism was probably Lenin.

As for Obama, one of the things I objected to about him from the very beginning was that he was too religious.

I don't have any numbers but I would guess that more money has gone to faith-based programs under Obama, and more education funding to church schools, and so on.

Hillary is too religious, too. Although her religiosity seems totally cynical. I remember reading an article talking about when she decided to start going to the Senate prayer breakfasts (or some such anti-American gathering) and became friends with Sam Brownback.

ok, then why else would they be thinking there is a war on religion? it's because there is indeed a war on religion- they got one right

Speaking of Islam and religious liberty, I was thinking about the so-called "Ground Zero Mosque" this morning. As I understand it, the plans have changed to a museum with condos and a prayer center. But a few years ago many of the same people who now insist that RFRA laws are discriminatory and unconstitutional put up a rather vigorous defense of a building that was going to discriminate against women.

Dems framed the entire debate as a Republican "war on Islam". They even bristled at the term "Ground Zero Mosque". It was instead a multifaith "community center", complete with recreational facilities such as a basketball court and swimming pool.

The only problem with this "community center" is that women were going to be restricted from using the same facilities as men. They were going to be segregated to their own smaller pool where they would be required to cover themselves from neck to ankle.

I guess this sort of discrimination is copacetic, but if a baker or a florist or a photographer doesn't want to participate in a gay wedding then he's a hate mongerer.
