The whole manufactured 'natural rival' thing is laughable. The Big10 made Purdue our rival, when they cluelessly set-up 'Legends' division crap, a few years back.

Certainly, the Goofers, Badjerks, Illannoy and even Cornholers are more rival with
Theeee IOWA HAWKEYES than Purdont will ever be.

Not trying to start anything but just find this issue with Purdue being our protected rival in the old legends and leaders setup surprising. It's just the way it worked out. I am not sure there were many choices when they matched up cross division rivals with Wisky v Minny, Michigan v OSU, IL v NW and MSU v PSU. That left 2 teams to pick from; Indiana & Purdue. The tone of this snark issue by our fans seems to indicate that there were better choices and we were snubbed? I just do not see that. Better rivals were either on our divisional side already or matched up by a more logical rival. Wisky would have been the most logical but they have like a 100 year matchup with Minny for the Axe already?

Oh well it all worked out with more expansion.

oh well so much for that the refs put a stop to Purdue's run. Purdue was up by 4 and just like that fouls stop the run and now MD shot 3 fouls to go up 56-53, I guess that's a fair trade 3 FT's for MD to 1 for Purdue,

Purdue got screwed by the zebras, but Painter did nothing to make adjustments to get the ball inside. Officials allowed the Mary Land bigs to shove Hammond all over the lane, and he gets a bogus offensive foul call the one time he tries to move the defender.

Got to give Mary Land credit. They make plays when the game is on the line. Doesn't hurt to be playing 8 on 5.
