Border politics

That's not an answer to the question.
Yes it is they scrapped the bipartisan border deal and ****ed our ally because Trump told them to. The joke of a Speaker last year since no Ukraine funding until border dealt with now they scrapped that and now project how terrible the border is. All intentional the GOP has no interest in addressing anything.

That's
We could easily take action in the rivers and land to make it tougher for illegals. I have a lot of family in Arizona and they all desperately want Biden out so the wave of illegals slows. It’s a nightmare there now. Here is what Eno gypt has done, we need to make it much tougher to get in. Klueless Kamala ignored Joe’s assignment to fix the border and the country is paying for it now.

That's complete BS. I am also in Arizona right now. People aren't desperate and it's no different now than 20 years ago. Immigration needs reform but it's not the problem the right makes it out to be. It's a lot like the BS that Canadians come to the US regularly because their healthcare sucks.

And D's are suddenly concerned about it because it's an election year issue.

I think the deal should be done FWIW.
I grew up along the border. There was no wall, just some fencing. Sure there was/is walls in the metro areas and other stretches, but not out in a lot of the countryside. people have been coming across for my entire lifetime. Has it gotten worse over the past 10-20 years... sure. That said, nobody has done anything to resolve it. And, it's not just a wall. I've seen the patrols, blimps, planes/copters, observations towers, etc. They help locate some, but they still get in. They have made elaborate tunnels, submarines, etc. Point is... they find a way. Even if more is done along the southern border the non-Hispanics will eventually find their way to the far less protected north border. And, until something is done about those hiring illegals they always know they have a source of income once here.

There's a lot that goes into immigration. Putting up a wall might make some righties very happy, but it will do little at the end of the day. Until everyone takes this serious and is willing to address a long list of things in a comprehensive package we will have issues and neither side happy about it.

The border has now become the GOP's fault. They hold total responsibility for border problems now as they have sabotaged the solution and became Putin lackeys while screwing our allies in the same masterstroke.

GOP- traitors to the free world with a con-man rapist as their leader. This party deserves extinction.

The question from Huey was what have the R's done....that bill is the answer.
This is where your claim to be "independent" proves you are not... a one sided bill versus a bipartisan bill that gets killed just because Trump would lose his ability to fear monger. (Almost) everything you argue on here is pro GOP.

No it isn't. A one sided bill the Rs knew had no chance of passing isn't the answer. And you know it
You asked what the R's have done...that's the answer.

We need a bipartisan bill. D's didn't pass anything when they were in control the first 2 years of the administration.

I live 30 miles from the border. Sleepy Joe has made it the worst crisis in American history by advertising a free and open border. How many terrorists do you think have entered on his watch? Waiting for another 9/11 situation. It's a ticking time bomb!
Where are these advertisements? Only showing in Mexico? Billboards, radio, TV, flyers? Is the advertising done over seas too?

Probably cuz the Dems were too busy passing vitally needed stuff like infrastructure which the Rs tried blocking only to try taking credit for later.

Meanwhile Rs had full control for two years under Trump. Why didn't they do immigration? All they seemed interested in were rich tax cuts.

Another 9/11? Why would terrorists go through the trouble of crossing the border when they can easily fly in to any airport?

About 40 percent of voters are convinced that the border with Mexico is the single most important issue in the US. The “crisis” may be overblown, but it is the most valuable wedge issue that right wingers have.

The border got Trump elected in 2016. And it will get him elected in 2024. Democrats should just build a f——— wall already so Trumpers will no longer be able to exploit this as a wedge issue.

This should be easy since most people who lean Democratic don’t really care one way of the other about the wall. And one thing they DO care about is not having another four years of Trump.

There is a bill on the table right now to help the boarder issue. The Republicans want nothing to do with fixing it. They need it to be the boogeyman. They don’t have abortion anymore.

You honestly believe the D's were "too busy" to pass a immigration reform bill?

JFC
Cleaning up COVID. Cleaning up after Trump. Doing infrastructure and a bunch of other stuff. It's weird that you talk smack about the people fixing the messes instead of the people making the messes worse.

Republicans are garbage. No argument.

To say the D's were too busy is simply BS. Just stop with that nonsense...they're never TOO busy. That's just a cop out..

Well... there you go. All or nothing from the repubs. Doesn't leave much room for compromise.
Your side’s version of compromise means the border will be sorta secure.

The ONLY reason the Democrats are even at the table is because Abbot bused migrants to sanctuary cities and they started feeling some of the pain.

And now, in an election year, and illegal immigration polling as one of the top concerns, democrats are finally looking into it. Biden was asked if the border was secure recently, and he finally said no. A day or two before, Myorkas was asked the same question, he answered yes. I think they need to get on the same page.

Obviously the border is a political football. Here's how I see the POLITICS of it playing out.

For Joe and the D's. It's imperative the Senate cuts the Ukraine/Gaza/Israel/Taiwan/border deal. Joe needs to get involved and get it done. Do that and it's get's thrown in the R's lap....if the R controlled House doesn't pass the Senate deal it's on the R's.

If a Senate deal doesn't get cut it's on Joe and the D's.

Basically as simple as that.....politically.
The R's have already received their marching orders from the Dear Leader. There will be no deal until after the election. There is no room for dissent on this. Il Duce has spoken.
