Shoot me now...
You're not wrong....but....strangely, I am suddenly craving a cinnamon Pop Tart fresh from the toaster. Dang it...they got me.
I can't afford to waste the ammo right now so you'll just have to wait. In the meantime, I'll add that bowl game sponsors jumped the shark in the 1980s.......................................Shoot me now...
I think the point is once it becomes a fact that the overwhelming majority have stopped trying, it's time to take away their toys (i.e. Bowl games). They’re not going anywhere so you might as well embrace and enjoy it. 90% of bowl sponsorships I won’t remember, and most of them I don’t even recognize the corporation or have any idea what they do. But I’ll always remember the Pop Tarts Bowl. I think this is hilarious.
Well, since that’s not going to happen, no use complaining about it.I think the point is once it becomes a fact that the overwhelming majority have stopped trying, it's time to take away their toys (i.e. Bowl games).
We've reached that point in time.........
You are correct, it goes back that far. It makes me wonder if people were paying attention for a generation and a half or so.I can't afford to waste the ammo right now so you'll just have to wait. In the meantime, I'll add that bowl game sponsors jumped the shark in the 1980s.......................................
Did you watch the vid? They toasted a pop tart in the freakin' trophy. This is a new level of absurdity. You are correct, it goes back that far. It makes me wonder if people were paying attention for a generation and a half or so.
Ad psychology says you will.90% of bowl sponsorships I won’t remember…
Wet brain says he won't.Ad psychology says you will.
Not sure how you missed it last year
as a huge isu fan i was drawn in this yearNot sure how you missed it last year
Goes well with the mayo bowl shenanigans.Did you watch the vid? They toasted a pop tart in the freakin' trophy. This is a new level of absurdity.
Maybe. But at the end of the day, is it really that much more absurd than a bronze pig?Did you watch the vid? They toasted a pop tart in the freakin' trophy. This is a new level of absurdity.
Can’t believe this needs to be explained but Yeah. There’s a great story behind the bronze pig. It’s symbolic of one the oldest rivalries in college football.Maybe. But at the end of the day, is it really that much more absurd than a bronze pig?
I'm definitely hoping to remember this year's Pinstripe Bowl!Ad psychology says you will.
This toilet bowels are worthless, fill up the TV programming over C mas is all.

The pig also doesn’t have a bacon frier built in. Hey…wait a minute
Well, since that’s not going to happen, no use complaining about it.
Selective memory. You are correct, it goes back that far. It makes me wonder if people were paying attention for a generation and a half or so.
Ummm..........yes.Maybe. But at the end of the day, is it really that much more absurd than a bronze pig?
But see the problem with that is, if given the choice, if it's all the same, you'd put a stop to this just like everyone else. This may be a “two types of people” thing. In one group are people like OP who see this is yet another round of piss in the bowl tradition cheerios. In the other, you have people like me who realize any non-playoff bowl has become a farcical exhibition, and fully embrace hilariously stupid gimmicks like this.
Probably added another ten cents to each of my tarts!Anyone have any idea what Pop Tarts pays to sponsor a bow game?
We’re all well aware that bowl sponsorships have been around for years.Selective memory.
Saw this online. Didn't see anything more recent.Anyone have any idea what Pop Tarts pays to sponsor a bow game?
I have never bought a single thing or service based on their sponsorship of a bowl game. Probably because I don’t recognize most of the sponsors or have any idea what products or services they represent. The ones I tend to remember are the ridiculous ones, like pop tarts bowl, so I don’t blame these companies for their ridiculous presentations.Ad psychology says you will.
And they've been weird af for years. We’re all well aware that bowl sponsorships have been around for years.
No disagreement. But a trophy with a built-in toaster? As I said, the phrase "jumped the shark" seems apropos. And they've been weird af for years.
Sounds to me like it's more of a last straw than a shark jumping.........No disagreement. But a trophy with a built-in toaster? As I said, the phrase "jumped the shark" seems apropos.
are you familiar with the expression? It's kind of the same thing.Sounds to me like it's more of a last straw than a shark jumping.........
