The last two games I've thought it might have been good for Iowa to use a box-and-1 to help shut down the hot hand. The Michigan kid couldn't miss, and last night the Rutgers kid went for 29. Iowa has several options in Joe T., CJ Fredrick, Weiskamp, and Connor who could take turns guarding the hot hand. I'd love to see Fran give it a try in similar situations.

Didn't Harper hit several contested 3's? I'm not all that worried about our defensive play, as I think they just shot REALLY well in the first half (>50% for a team that shoots <32% from).

I don't know that I've seen Fran use "junk" defenses at Iowa, but I think he's used some zone-to-man switches and vice-versa.

‘Didn’t see Steph Curry on the court for Rutgers and the OP is an idiot who continually spews political garbage on here. So no, I think it would have been silly to game plan all week to run a box and 1 on a player who scores 12 points per game or if not gameplanned all week go into a defense the players have never played. It would be stupid.
