Boy...that tax "reform" by the GOP sure has stoked the economy

I would guess that we are currently spending approximately 50% of our potential GDP growth on the trade war with China...

It's almost like some of us saw this coming. "Some of us" being every real economic expert and those of us who bothered listening to them.

Which won't be hard when the tax cuts overheat the economy into a meltdown and we hit another farm crisis. Book it.

The whole ignorance of economics and the fact that we are mainly a service economy now. 1950's mercantalism is how I saw it described.

Remember the 6% GDP growth promises?

We have GDP under 2% growth.

FAIL....EPIC FAIL
We have growth, the rest of the world is in heading towards recession. Figure it out. We at least have positive interest rates. Europe is paying banks to take money to loan. That is putting a damper on our economy. Why do you think Trump has been bitching about the Fed, the spread was too big for too long.

You damn Trump haters have no idea how much damage the Democratic party has done to this country. We finally have a President who was willing to stand up to China, and you cut him off at the balls.

Oh yeah, why do you think our European allies hate Trump so much? Because 50-60% of their GDP is tied to manufacturing exports. It is something like 12% in the USA. So, when you hear criticism from Germany, France, and others, it is because China is hurting and not buying their shit.

Nailed it. His is the correct answer. Trade leads to manufacturing which leads to jobs. The US is only 10% manufacturing vs 25% in Germany and most other countries. Most countries are hurting right now and the US consumer is driving global markets.

Horsebleep. Total. Horsebleep. You act like there were no Republicans in power ever before 2016

I'll say this....it's actually fairly impressive that we have 2% growth and that the markets are where they are with Trump's reckless use of Twitter & tariffs and foreign policy.

So yeah, this is why Europe does not support us with IRAN or China. Too much money being made selling them stuff.

So tariffs was never a republican kind of thing...

GOP fractures over Trump’s tariffs
The divide risks embarrassing the president and his party.

6% would be highly inflationary at full employment like we are. We lack manufacturing because of government regulation driving up the cost of doing business in America and we had a whole generation ( maybe two ) who were told factory work sucked and you needed to be a computer nerd to work in a cubicle doing service work. Reap it libs...

Link to libs telling one, maybe two generations of Americans that factory work sucked and that being a computer nerd working in a cubicle doing service work was the way to go?

So your solution is 19th century stuff...bring back child labor, etc....ignore food safety...good strategy

Do you think the United States would be better off with the labor laws of third world countries?

The working class didn’t leave the factories, CEOs sent their jobs to China.

I have no idea what the point of this thread might be. My president knows more about economies than anyone....

I have been celebrating 2% growth for 8+ years now.....Thank God Trump has been able to keep the economy of Obama moving forward.

No, I do not remember 6% "promises". That's highly unrealistic because I don't think we've ever had it except maybe 1941
Of course you don't remember that from Trump. But everyone else knows he said it. paraphrasing... "We're going to have 4/5/maybe even 6% GDP".

And your President says lots of unrealistic things. And deplorables lap it up with a sponge and a spoon.

Pretty sure the Republicans sent the jobs overseas for cheaper labor. I’m guessing the computer nerd scenario was out of necessity.

This poster is a prime example of why we’re in this dire situation as a country. People like this don’t care what happens to the country, their one and only concern is stigginit to the libs. Such a vile and despicable collection of individuals.
