Current surprise hit in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers. Nice job.
Good for him. Always liked him. Hope his personal life is going better for him.[/QUOTE
Kid was great, had some issues that a lot of young people go through, athlete or not... I'm sure his "personal life" is doing just fine, wasn't that crazy
Any excuse to take a shot at Ferentz.
Hey, it's my kid's birthday! Too bad Ferentz wouldn't send him a BIRTHDAY CARD!!
No, Real Kurt Warner. You're retired and the kid probably has no idea who you are. What's your address I'll send him one, how's that?
He made a bad decision, but he will still be loved by Hawkeye fans for what he brought in 2009. Only an idiot, who drinks too much would think differently. He's an inspiration and one of the best to wear the black and gold.
Hey, not trying to bash on kf

It was satire.Never really got this. He drank, took drugs, quit and now he is in the NFL. That doesn't really inspire me. Kids that come in, work hard, stay in school, stay out of trouble and make the NFL inspire. He's just got great athletic ability.
It's like those kids that are complete F ups their whole life and when they get out of jail and get a job, there parents want to throw a party for them. I always thought it demeaned all the kids that did it right in the first place.
Best of luck to Brandon but his choices certainly don't inspire me.

Btw, and I agree that many teams including Iowa missed on Johnson and that retrospectively it is unfortunate...........he really did take plays off. And no it wasn't just because he was on the field "all the time".
Oh well.

A couple years ago my then 6-year-old sent him a letter with some plays he drew up. Got a signed Iowa poster back with a note that said, "Thanks for the plays."He actually would if you really wanted him to, he'd at least sign it.

Obvious that Iowa and every other D-1 school? How did Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Missouri (and Iowa State) miss such an obvious high school phenom? It's obvious the iowa coaches totally dropped the ball on David Johnson, he would have been the hawks best player.
As for wegher? I wish him well and hope he has a tremendous career. Glad he has over come his early difficulties.
