Branstad biography coming in December

FYI, Teflon set up Eric with a job working as a lobbyist for a renewable energy (Ethanol) think tank. I saw once where Teflon had hooked up his son Marcus with a spot on a state conservation board. Not exactly a money grab, but, clearly not a gig he was the most qualified person in the state to fill.
I give credit to Teflon. He did a good job floating around the private sector and setting his family up financially. He wasn't greedy in abusing his office. Not pristine, just not greedy enough to draw attention.

"Greatest governor in the history of Iowa"? Really? Other than longeVity, what criteria do you use? What had Teflon done legislatively or administratively that you think qualifies him for this title?
I really think he has accomplished much less than Harold Hughes did in his four years as governor. He has accomplished next to nothing as compared to Robert Tay. Vilsack saved his bacon and was able to bend Iowa priorities in a more correct direction after Teflon floundered his first several, terms. Culver was probably a more transparent and honest governor than Branstad.
Again, I admit Teflon is very popular with Iowans. And again, I fail to u derstand the reason why. he is just a poop and he always has been. Imjust don't get it.
Yes the greatest, no doubt about that.

Remember that Bob Ray decided NOT to run for his 6th term....Unlike Branstad who saw he was going to lose his re-election bid to Tom Vilsack, so he entered the private sector. Figures don't lie but liars figure. Bob Ray ran 5 CONSECUTIVE times for election and won all 5 times. Then he retired from political life. Ray's first three terms were limited to 2 years, his last two terms were changed to 4 year terms. Teflon ran 4 CONSECUTIVE times and then "retired" in the face of the Vilsack challenge. All Teflon's terms were 4 years duration. He has won two more elections, once he was able to deterrmine that Vilsack was not going to run against him.

No he didn't.

No he didn't.
Bob.....spin it any way you want to....Branstad left office after Vilsack and Dems had outflanked ol' Teflon his second and third terms as Governator. The economy caught up with Teflon and he chose his winners and losers with budget cuts, and he was in deep doo doo. Vilsack announced he was going to run for Governor...and Teflon announced he had served Iowa long enough and headed into the private sector. That is what happened. You may not like it but that is what happened. Vilsack rode Teflon out of office like just like Ron Turcotte rode Secretariat to the Triple Crown.
