According to the linked site Brett Bielema is working with New England as an assistant coach. He is not interested in returning to the college coaching world. Seems like his name gets brought up alot as a potential HC in the B1G. Things can change so maybe he will return to college or possibly he is eyeing an NFL HC gig at some point.

With former AD who hired him at Arkansas going to Kansas there is speculation KU could be a spot after this season with their current coach heading into year 4 on the hot seat. I think if he returns to the college game would be at Kstate. He coached there and worked for Snyder. Plus with Snyder he wants his son the special teams coach to succeed him but kstate doesn’t which has been a point of contention and reason some think why Snyder holding on and not retiring yet. Having Bielema take over could be a compromise by both sides where Snyder gets his pupil who would probably keep his son on staff and kstate gets a proven Coach. Plus kstate set up a lot better than KU where he could start winning right away.

Bret has an offensive schtick that could really help get KU some wins and that is power football. It would be a better path for KU to build an OL and get 2 backs to jam the ball down big 12 opponent’s throats. Drain the clock and keep Big 12 offenses on the sideline. Not going to win every game but could get KU 6 wins which would be something to build on.

I think KU would be a good landing spot for him but I’m not sure AD Long wants to roll the dice twice on Brett. That could be career suicude if it fails again.

If he gets a 5 year gig at KU at around $4 mill a year, he can afford a career suicide. I'd be glad to take that deal for about 4 years

I believe he was referring to that potential move being a possible career ending decision for the AD not Bielema. Bret is committed to a kind of slow suicide of his own with gluttony and alcoholism. Guy even started to look like a fattened razorhog ironically enough.
