Brian Ferentz is way out of his league

I didn't see the 1st half but two dropped balls in the 2nd half don't help.

I'm not defending Brian, but this is a collective effort. The Nate Stanley read option or whatever that was on 3rd and 9 was definitely a WTF call. I don't know. Hard to fathom why they are so bad since Ohio State. I don't get it.

Part of the story of this game......the two penalties
that helped Purdue continue drive to two different
TD's. One in the first half and one in the second
half. Self-inflicted penalties give the opposition a
better chance at momentum.

It was time when we rehired KOK - the mediocre at best OC we ran out of town. And then elevated BF. Kirk has no new ideas and actively hates the thought of change.

Between Kirk, BF and Polanski we have 3 coaches who either played or coached our Offensive Line and our line stinks.

Our offense is consistently near the bottom of D1 every year. This is nothing new.

Exactly. Which is why it floors me when people start bitching about Iowa's latest OC as if he is the root of the problem. Lol.

There is a common denominator here, folks. And it isn't the guy in the press box wearing the headset and calling down plays. This is Kirk's baby. Plain and simple.

Exactly, you are spot on.

Ferentz has never had any balls. His offenses are disgusting to watch.
Feel sorry for the players trying to execute his stupid plays.

The Offense has regressed to a point that a change is necessary. Not even having the version of the Offense that beat OSU throttle Nebby should save BF job. In fact, Barta should make KF demote him immediately. If KF doesn't demote him then Barta should fire BF. KOK should call the plays next week, and then KF should hire a new OC as the tenth coach. The BF experiment has failed miserably.

Polasek was never an O-line coach and was a qb as a player. Maybe he and BF should switch responsibilities.

Anyone wonder why highly skilled recruits don't want to play in Iowa's scheme? If it's tough to watch imagine how it is to play in it.

I agree, BF is in over his head. But Phil Parker had his issues today, too. Not a good day to be an Iowa football coach.

Well, he's pretty much ruining Brian Ferentz's future in coaching, that's for sure. You don't hire a guy with zero experience as OC after the team was struggling on O the year before. This point was argued ad nauseam in the offseason and now we're seeing that the people who were worried about this very thing were right all along.

I think the only reason I'm surprised at this point is because I can't figure out for the life of me how this team destroyed Ohio State. If Iowa loses next week it might knock Ohio State out of the playoff hunt even if they beat UW in the CCG, lol.

There comes a time and today was it, dad and son need to be thanked and sent packing. This administration can no longer take hawk fans lightly times have changed

Issues like:

Two horrible punters, punting into a heavy wind.

An inept offense who can’t move the ball.

Special teams extending drives with stupid penalties.

Special teams extending drives with muffed punts on the 25 yd line.

Yeah, the defense has had a lot of issues all year. Today wasn’t much different. The offense and special teams have screwed them time after time.

Nepotism doesn't usually spit out success. I don't think he gets hired as an OC at any other P5 school, which says a lot.

Only with Iowa do two dropped passes put us in a hole we can't get out of.

I said last year that BF was named OC to take over after daddy retires. Book it, we're stuck with the Ferentz's for the next 25 years!

And this is the problem. They surrounded him with an actual OC (KOK), and he still can't figure it out

A program like iowa that has a documented history of 1) reasonable expectations and 2) well-paid coaches shouldn't be settling for this learning on the job crap. BF should be in the MAC learning how to coach instead of learning on the job at the highest level of college football

Why do we keep yelling out audibles? Keep confusing the Offensive line with last second changes and making them try to remember which play and how to block for it is just killing us, especially with some of the young replacements. It happens even when the defense does not shift the coverage.
