you talking to bf? he's the one who did the deed, Butters is just pointing it out. that should have been our first clue as to what kind of guy bf was/is.Stop being a dumbass !

No thanks on Seth, Woods would be decent. Lester merely being on staff shouldn't put him in a line of succession to become the HC, nor should such a line exist anyway.Either Seth, Woods, or Lester will replace KF.

Previous HC position, OC, if he makes Iowa's offense relevant and complimentary to the defense, there will be interest. No thanks on Seth, Woods would be decent. Lester merely being on staff shouldn't put him in a line of succession to become the HC, nor should such a line exist anyway.
defend your stance or gtfo with that nonsenseNo, replying to you and Butters.
Seth is the main driver behind the move to the 4-2-5, which by no coincidence, is also when we moved from good to great on defense. There’s a reason he was moved to Asst Head Coach over Woods….cuz he’s the better coach and would make a great replacement for KF once the time comes. No thanks on Seth, Woods would be decent. I think you're right, KF thought he could just plug Brian in......... But that tells us how little KF understands about offensive football.Wish him the best. He was in over his head as an offensive coordinator at a P5 school. His pop did him no favors. Maybe he thought he could just plug Brian in, do the same thing they'd been doing for years and it would all be fine. Turns out being an offensive coordinator at a P5 school is really, really hard. (I also think the long term plan was for Brian to take over as head coach, but the best laid plans . . .)
It shouldn't just be handed to him or anyone, that's my main point. Once the time comes I hope the university casts a wide net and aims to make an ambitious hire, not just settle for an Iowa guy.Seth is the main driver behind the move to the 4-2-5, which by no coincidence, is also when we moved from good to great on defense. The gameplan (said by Doch) was for Brian to take over once Kirk leaves. He admitted as such. So it seems apparent that Kirk wants to bring someone up in-house. Judging by the promotion, Wallace is in the lead.Either Seth, Woods, or Lester will replace KF.
I'm pretty sure that KF forfeited any major pull he may have once had regarding his replacement with GB's retirement and the BF fiasco. I'm sure BG will listen to what he has to say, but his influence in naming his replacement is probably about 1/10 of what it was 7-8 years ago.The gameplan (said by Doch) was for Brian to take over once Kirk leaves. To me, it has to be someone cut from the "Iowa cloth".It shouldn't just be handed to him or anyone, that's my main point. Once the time comes I hope the university casts a wide net and aims to make an ambitious hire, not just settle for an Iowa guy.
I get what you're saying, but I disagree. Iowa is "different" because the man in charge has a certain way of building his program and culture. Doesn't make it right or wrong, good or bad.....it's just his way. So yeah, when you bring in players or assistants, they have to be cut from a certain "cloth". But once he retires, there's nothing that says we have to continue to forge that path. We can certainly decide to go down a different path and I'd be fine with that.To me, it has to be someone cut from the "Iowa cloth".
Iowa is just different

yep i'm definitely worried it's gonna be personal. brian's rush scheme's gonna shred our dline and brian's gonna get in phil's face after the game to say "that's for 3 years of scoring more than my receiving corps"
