God awful loss. Michigan State is horrible. That should end the Tourney talks for this team. No first round exit this year.

Did you actually have this as a win? Yeah it sucks to lose but I wasn't expecting much tonight. It was frustrating to watch the lack of execution down the stretch but ultimately losing this game has little effect on tournament chances. Hold serve at home over the next three and the team is right back where they need to be.
Ulis had a great game...until the last 4 minutes? Layup and front end miss.

Close but no cigar. B1G has lot of decent/good teams and Iowa is in that range.
I mean Sandfort just won a game a couple weeks ago. The 3pt shooting kills. But Kris was 0-5. His 3 has looked rough lately. He should be the leader on this team. If he wants to truly earn a spot in the nba and not just get drafted on potential, he can’t have games like this. Put up at least 20% from three and he doesn’t fly home with an L.
To bad! You dont get the chance to win in East Lansing very often. Need to win the next 3 home games & Dont lose to nebraska & Minnesota! 500 in the big 10 and were in. Barely i think!!

Kris is 2nd in the league in scoring. He had an off night.
A couple of things I think we need to fix. Kris was just not aggressive the 2nd half. He was on the right corner area with one guy guarding and no one between him and the basket. He just passed it off!! Some games he would just drive it and then and/or pull up or get in for a dumk.
Second thing is Ulis turnovers. He had 6 and only 3 assists. He had a good game shooting tonight, but I don't know if he is the answer at PG.

We got about 3-4 losses left in the season or we out of the tourney. I doubt a 13 loss iowa sneaks in with that EIU loss.
There were people freaking out and proclaiming the season over after Hawks lost at Rutgers a year ago to start 4-6 in the bten. We lost at Breslin, big woop. I think this is a poorly constructed roster than Fran did no favors by striking out in the portal to full glaring needs but it's an unimpressive league, iowa can reel off some wins. I'll let the season play out, again.
All comments like this do is prove to me there's still lots of Iowa fans that have very little awareness of what's going on in the broader college basketball landscape. The Big Ten is going to get 8-10 teams into the tournament again because college basketball as a whole has sucked this year. There's like 10 good teams and half of them are in the Big 12. There's literally more teams in the top 65 in the NET with Q4 losses than there ever has been and it's only January. Iowa's tournament chances did not go down from losing this game (Iowa was an 8 seed in BracketMatrix today). A win would have boosted their chances, but the sky is falling attitude is so damn weak.
Nobody is a go to scorer all the time and Kris had an off night for sure but he's still averaging 21/9 and in the 5 previous games he averaged 23. I think he's earned a pass for one night in the hardest place to play in the bten VS a team that notoriously plays solid D. There is plenty of blame to go around this game

Fran does a horrible job of recognizing the need to run more plays for Kris. Kris doesn't have the take the game over personality so it's up to the coach to get him involved. At least Fran is doing a great job stunting the growth of Dix and Bowen.
Lord. That’s one take. Fran has a pretty impressive record of developing talent, I’ll defer to him there. Dix has been playing well, give Fran some credit. Unfortunately, Bowen isn’t quite there mentally, he takes some ill advised shots and makes some bad turnovers. Like a lot of freshmen.
You can run plays for Kris, but he really just needs to be stronger with the ball.
Eh sometimes you miss - liked the effort in a hostile environment. Need to get a bit better at focusing in that and hit those shots!
