Nobody is a go to scorer all the time and Kris had an off night for sure but he's still averaging 21/9 and in the 5 previous games he averaged 23. I think he's earned a pass for one night in the hardest place to play in the bten VS a team that notoriously plays solid D. There is plenty of blame to go around this game
I never mentioned KM, so .............

Lol, the only game winner Weesie ever made was off the bank board from the side. He was never clutch. Now JBo. . .
It doesn't have to be at the buzzer to be clutch. Wieskamp hit a lot of clutch shots during games when things either could have gone south or to put teams away. Or do you think all 1300 of his points were just random and incidental?

Hawks are not going to win the B1G or go to the final 4 in the dance. I do think they are capable of finishing .500 or a little better in the B1G, which I believe would probably get them in the dance. We need to find our outside shooting and Perkins, in particular, needs to show up and be aggressive. Otherwise, I am not confident that we will finish .500 or better.

Like everything in life, there is a spectrum.

My favorite part of the game was 10 seconds left and it took cmac to actually call the TO. Fran looked like he had no intentions of taking one and just clueless

CMAC is extension of Fran, so I'm guessing Fran was waiting for CMAC to call the TO. Iowa got a little lucky to be in position to win the game with MSU missing 1 and 1....I'll give Fran credit for drawing up a great play...wide open shot....a pure shooter should drain that 45-50% of the time.

Expecting this Iowa team to have even a little consistency is asking WAAY too much. Barring some kind of miracle run where everybody gets hot as hell and plays better than average defense, this team has a second round NIT ceiling.

Just enjoy the good plays when they happen and don't be upset when the Hawks are not playing for anything in March.

The shot was wide open and Payton got to step into it. The pass wasn't perfect, but a pure shooter should hit that 3 over 50% of the time. The play was ingenious and fun to replay. Ulis picked for Kris to get the pass over the top from Connor to Kris, who was a great decoy. Meanwhile, Rebraca picks Payton's man out front, which was easy because everyone on MSU thought Kris was getting the shot. Payton just didn't make it. The second shot would have been a great shot, but was makable. Connor is the best in situations like this.

Ulis had a great game...until the last 4 minutes? Layup and front end miss.

Missed FT's were the killer, not Ulis (goddamit! make shit).
He did have a good game but also had 5 turnovers. He gets out of control sometimes with no where to go. Still had a good game.

In all seriousness...national championship on the line, it all comes down to one oob play with 3 seconds left, Fran is on a very short list of coaches that I would want drawing up the play. He's exceptional at it.

I’ll give you he’s pretty good at that
