If bball is cancelled I might not watch it for the next 12 months. If they don't pay for new games to televise, how do they get any viewers?

I have no idea. Maybe the existing contracts they have with cable companies pull them through to 2021???? Interesting topic and it sucks because I was really starting to enjoy their pre game shows on Saturdays over college game day. FS1 had a solid one as well.
In addition, I wonder how all these websites are gonna manage without football; I mean, there's nothing to cover. Hopefully there is a basketball season to cover!

And then, you've got newspapers. The Register furloughed Leistikow & Emmert, for example. They are still employed, but they were forced to take unpaid time off.
BTN is as useless as tits on a bull right now. Dropped my level of package that carries BTN until they have something useful to watch on the channel.
I haven't had it since basketball tournament was cancelled. Mostly had Philo which costs $20 a month. They have a lot of entertainment channels but no news or sports. In today's climate, that's not all bad!
I've thought about doing the same, but if we all do that we are only going to make matters worse. I'm hopeful but maybe, just maybe...
