My BTN on Mediacom disappeared just after midnight.

I have channels disappear a lot on mediacom . Then have to re-scan them all on the tv and they are back. It's annoying. But I still prefer Cable over satellite. I don't want the weather interrupting my tv signal. I just wish there was another cable provider here to give mediacom some competition and maybe lower price.

Re-scan? Is this something I need to do or do I have to bring Mediacom in?

Sorry for any confusion, I don't have a cable box, only the cable straight from the wall to the tv. I just have to re-scan channels on my tv sometimes like when I first got the tv and had to set it up. When I do this I get the channels back, sometimes listed under different channel numbers. Not sure why it does this though.
