So did Christie, Perry, and Jindal. All used private emails to conduct public business. Jeb even had his own personal server, just like Hillary, and decided, just like Hillary, that he would decide which emails were made public and which weren't. This is the height of hypocrisy.

This is what the winger does: witchhunt everybody but his own guy.

Remind me which of those were Secretary of State? And also, where is the list of Democrat governors etc doing the exact same thing at the state level?

I guess we can try and state this as many ways as possible so some folks can understand the underlying concept.

State governors do not have the same job responsibilities as the Secretary of State of the United States of America.

"State governors do not require personnel security clearances."

In defense of the rest of the board. Only Red, jscott and Ciggy don't get it.

But, that is the kind of slapstick we have come to expect from those three.

This is pathetic, even for you, Red. Think through it.

That post has so much stupid crammed in it I almost feel sorry for you.

Almost.

I think they should wipe them clean and say nothing illegal was done on them. Case closed - innocence proved.

Colin Powell.

He used the State Departments email service for job related stuff.

“He was not aware of any restrictions nor does he recall being made aware of any over the four years he served at State,” the statement says. “He sent emails to his staff generally via their State Department email addresses. These emails should be on the State Department computers. He might have occasionally used personal email addresses, as he did when emailing to family and friends.”

Ok, let me ask this of some of you guys.

Do you REALLY care that she did this? Are you concerned that her actions weakened the US?

Or, are you just willing to use any activities (especially illegal) against her because you don't like her/want her as POTUS/secretly love her/whatever?

All of the above.

I couldn't get your link to work (it's my computer, not your link), but I seem to recall some of the rules regarding email accounts evolved into requiring higher security levels either during or after Powell's tenure. His use of personal email accounts I don't think nearly reaches the level of Clinton's use of a private server to conduct Federal business.

I agree with others that the level of security required of the Secretary of State has to be much higher than a state governor.

What are you concerned the emails led to, that was negative for the US?

I don't know. I've never read a classified e-mail before.

I just know if your job responsibilities include guarding the National Security of a government and its citizens, you should take it seriously.

She didn't. As a result didn't execute her role. How many more times do we need to see HRC not execute her role to understand that she won't execute any role given, or earned?

It's over for HRC you liberals on this board are making fools of yourselves! Go find a new candidate who is not corrupt!

There are lots of choices!

Yes, the gist of it seems to be that Colin Powell used his private account for emails to friends and family, and the State Dept. account for job related stuff. He wasn't sending classified information on his private email. That's a big difference from what Ms. Clinton was doing. She had no State Dept account.

It's Benghazi time all over again for you idiots.

The fun part about Bengazi is that it's kind of like Watergate. There's a big gap in the email sequence for HRC during the Bengazi time frame. Hmmm.

We rarely agree on anything, but I'm really disappointed you've become an apologist for her actions.

Talk to anyone who has dealt with classified/secret, etc material. This isn't a minor issue. Look what happened to General Petraeus and he gave someone with security his personal calendar, which was long outdated when he did this. It's horrible for security reasons, but also Hillary's emails should be a part of the historical record. Would it have been wrong for Nixon to destroy the tapes? Hell yes. We have obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and a host of other criminal laws which likely were violated. If a colonel did what she did he'd be facing a court martial for treason.

We haven't even gotten to the content of the emails, which could show criminal, or embarrassing information to Clinton's actions concerning Benghazi.

Interesting, I went back and read my prior posts and, *GASP*, nowhere could I find apologies.

I'm asking a very obvious, very easy to answer question, and really I'm wondering how many will be honest.

Do you/anyone else really believe that her emails endangered the US? Or, do you just despise her, so you are wanting to use it.

I have NO problem with you using it against her, hell, please do.

From my sense it is more about following the rules. I do believe the rule said she needed to keep it on a government secured server, and didn't. We don't need more politicians who think they don't need to follow the rules, we have enough of them already.

Do you really think it's good when Russia or China potentially knows about troop movements, sensitive satellite imagery, CIA matters, etc? I don't.

She cannot be trusted she broke the law she endangered our country she is a traitor.

I have never felt like you were very bright but this is special needs kind of thinking. If that is the case I apologize for every time I have mocked you.

Apparently so did Condaleezza Rice and Colin Powell.

Not saying it's a good idea. My own feeling is that it's probably a very bad idea that is neutral at best but more easily cracked by spies or more likely to lead to corruption at worst.

Here's a question I haven't heard broached: Did using private servers keep the correspondence from any of those folks from being swept up by NSA?

It would be amusing if Hillary's email was less likely to appear in the Snowden data for that reason. Or Wikileaks, or whatever.

1. I despise her.
2. I think the most significant aspect of the e-mail controversy is the way it reveals her character and her incompetence.
3. I would be surprised if her laxity in using e-mails didn't harm the U.S.

You ask the "damaging" question in the form of a trap.

As if people could choose what
Laws they should follow and what the shouldn't.

If we knew the sensitivity of the emails, then they wouldn't be sensitive would they?

You are trying to have us hold Hillary accountable for things we shouldn't know. Keeping those things from us and our enemies was a condition of her employment.

Do not find degrees of difference on what common opinion would suggest. She didn't agree to uphold the common opinion, she agreed to Protect and Defend the safety and security of the United States of America. The expectations were clear. She broke them.

Your demanding of our expectations after the fact, has no bearing on Hillary's responsibity.

You know this.

I have to disagree with you on one point: condoleeza rice did not use a personal email account for any official business during her time as Secretary of State. In fact, she was very hesitant to use email at all, personal or otherwise, while Sec of State. I'm not a big fan of her, but honesty was never an issue in my opinion.

Yes. I've worked with TONS of classified info in my military career and there's one thing I know for certain. If the "ordinary citizen" had ANY of the satellite info that she had on her server and not secured, you are one F'ING stupid individual.

And yes, that is info that is damaging to the U.S. Do think Russia and China now have a nice folder on the information that they easily hacked into somewhere in the far ease?

Can you imagine Clinton as POTUS trying to influence Russian and China knowing that at any moment they could release info hacked from her server as President? She's a damaged candidate with no upper hand at all and she's not even the candidate for her party.

She would be insignificant in world negotiations; a non-factor for her entire time. Putin would eat her for lunch and she wouldn't do (couldn't do) a damn thing about it.
