Ferentz appears to be a very small man in terms of character. If any player, no matter what they bring to the field, does not operate (dress, talk, worship him, study, manage weight, etc.) exactly how Ferentz things a person in that position should behave he will not play them unless he is forced. On the other hand, he will play lesser players until h*** freezes over them because their personality/operate aligns with his (my way) arrogant perception.
There are actually quite a few examples in the Iowa football history under him. Wadley, Labas, Padilla, and DJK were mentioned earlier, and these are just a few examples. JMO from watching many, many years of Iowa football and Ferentz arrogance. Once he rejects a player there is no coming back unless his hand is forced.
And "no" I do not like Ferentz as Iowa's head coach and have not for many years.
