I get why a father would want a certain type of justice for this, but he really mishandled the situation.

Eeeek, hate to read that...for all parties involved. If I am not mistaken though, I think this guy wrestled in college for ASU and appeared at least once in CHA. Versus Matt Fields, Iowa HWT at the time.

5 years sounds about right for that, and that's with the mitigating circumstances of understanding his anger.

Can't function as a society and condone that.

Pretty lucky he got 5. I’d consider it premeditated with the phone searches. And firing a weapon by kids leaving school is just batty.

Velasquez said himself he handled it poorly. You just can't do that and then missing and shooting the wrong person is BAD bad.

Don't get me wrong, I don't blame him for wanting to get the molester. I'm surprised he didn't just beat the living hell out of the guy- introduce him to his fists" as a poster used to say.

Im okay with the sentence, and Im okay with him getting out early. The risk and the injury to the uninvolved, he needs to own his inability to control himself. But, Im not gotta fret too hard over it since I understand him going punisher. Just have to be more accurate.

He did not respond correctly by shooting at the suspect in a populated area. He should have been more calculated and caught the suspect at a better time, and then proceed to beat him significantly with his bare hands, but not to the point of killing him. At least that is what I would do. It wouldn’t be that much time.

Sentence seems fair.

Honestly I don’t know how I’d handle myself in that situation. I’d like to think I’d keep my rampage away from innocent bystanders.

But I could see myself snapping.

Pretty sure he wasn’t thinking clearly. Who would?

He's a former MMA champion.

He could have pummeled the perp with his fists if he wanted to.
