I think what this shows is there will be very few, if any, multi sport power house universities. There is only so much coin to go around, so if you want to be a football school you pay football players, if you want to be a basketball school, you pay bb players. Most schools will not be able to afford both.

And, as we saw, a ton of money was spent to get a QB, TE, WR, LB and several Offensive Linemen.

Iowa Wrestling has the "inner Circle," where Iowa wrestling fans have been contributing monthly for several years now. All of that money goes towards the Hawkeye Wrestling Club.

With the same number of games played, is the difference in income from more seats in the building so more tickets? Or do they charge more per ticket. Or is it advertising revenue? Just wondering where the difference comes from.

I’m not sure because they don’t break it down individually for each sport. Only for the overall athletic department. But I’m assuming it would be donations more than anything. Donations earmarked for MBB.

Take ILL (the most profitable MBB by a wide margin) for example. For all sports they had $15.6 mil in ticket sales and $40 mil in donations. Iowa had $26.4 in ticket sales and $29.5 in donations.
