You and your ilk won't be able to suppress the black vote this fall.
Outstanding. I'll look forward to all citizens and registered voters excercising their constitutional right to vote. That would be a welcome change too the violence and rioting against totally innocent people of all races that were seeing now. Just one man's 2 cents......

I’m nuts. Who has ever heard of cops beating/killing blacks? ****ing dipshit.

It does happen, but how often? A total of 667 black people were fatally shot by law enforcement between 2017-2019. Average 222 per year. That number includes all such shootings regardless of circumstance. That means at least some of the people getting shot were armed, violently resisted arrest, or attempted to disarm one or more officers. About a third of my practice is suing police officers and the municipalities that employ them and even I think the police have a fundamental right to protect themselves from the threat of deadly force. Do you agree?

There are 37,685,848 self identified black people in the USA. So a in in ten risk would place the number killed at 3,738,584. A one in a hundred risk would be 373,858. A one in a thousand risk would be 37,385. A one in a million risk would be 3738. A one in ten million risk would be 373.

So while there are some abusive and illegal police shootings of black people, that is an extremely rare occurrence. It disserves the public interest, and the interest of real police abuse like that poor murder victim in Minneapolis, whose family is about to get $1 mil or more and the killer is going to prison where police officers do not fare well.

Thank you for providing real data and showing how little sense society has today. It’s unbelievable how much mass hysteria, fear and anger there is over police brutality/abuse of power issue that is portrayed to be an everyday common event. What happened to Mr Floyd is a crime punishable by the greatest extent of the law no doubt. No one disputes that fact but to paint all law enforcement with a broad brush is ridiculous.

Clay Travis quoted that the 2019 stats show 43 unarmed people in the US were killed by police; 19 white, 9 black, 9 Asian and the rest a mix of other races. 43 in a country of 330 million people! These numbers have been trending down also for the past 4-5 years. You’d never know.

No one ever asks or discusses data. It’s all about ‘feelings’, ‘opinions’ and ‘I think’. When faced with data many of these narratives do not seem to fit reality. The media never quotes data! They use descriptive words that push their agenda; huge, massive, devastating, etc.

Then when are we ever going to be 100% perfect? There are people who do bad things in all races and all walks of life. To think you are going to put anyone in charge who sets up a system where nothing bad ever happens - give me a break!

Last all I ever here is it’s ‘time for change’. There’s never a plan or rarely even a list of the actions needed. No one even wants to do the work because they want someone else to do it. That is why they use the ‘we’ word all that time which really means ‘you all’ or ‘someone else’. What people find out when they have to do the work behind ‘change’ is it’s really difficult, full of gray areas and sometimes you end up in a worse situation than you started because the true ‘data’ never supported the action.

Just ignore that effing unhinged reactionary. He'll wake up some day and wonder why he's shackled...
So much for free speech! That statement really shows your mentality. If you disagree with someone, they are obviously wrong and should be locked up!

Interesting statistics, the percentage of violent crime in the U.S. is equal between black and whites since 2017. During that same time, there have been more whites shot and killed by police officers then blacks every single year.

The argument being made is that blacks make up a smaller % of the population and are then being targeted by police officers, but the percentage of blacks committing violent crimes is far higher, then the percentage of blacks being shot by police officers, according to their population %.

What happened to George Floyd was awful. It brought me to tears as I watched. No man, no color, should ever have to go through that. That police officer should be jailed for the rest of his life, no question. I understood the protests in Minneapolis. I don't understand the death being an excuse to hurt and harm others.

Let me also say, that I am a democrat. I have no doubts some police officers are bad people, and that white privilege does exist. I personally am not a racist person, nor have I ever acted in a racist manner. I do not have a single white friend that is. Not one. I'm trying really really hard to not believe, that what is being pushed right now isn't politically motivated, but I'm struggling with it.

The same media that was telling me to stay home, social distance, now isn't even mentioning that during these protests and riots.

Every day I struggle more and more with our political system, and wonder just how much of what we are fed is absolute bullsh**, in order to have us focus anger on each other, rather than the politicians in charge of our country. All of this makes me sad. All of it.

This is not true. I have read that this will most likely cause an outbreak that we'll see in 2-3 weeks. So we'll see 2 waves, one from opening up then another from this stuff.

Going to be a long summer.

I have watched hundreds of news stories on the protests, with zero mention of Covid19. Zero. If it's as serious as was once thought, which I believe, then it should be in every one of these stories. Long summer indeed.
