There's plenty to be disappointed about but this is so stupid. In that scenario he knows Peyton just put up a last second shot and knows he has to get a shot off as quick as possible. Not to mention he's running sideways and trying to fend off the other guy going for the rebound.

I've seen some good rebounding from Pryce lately, which is one of the lone bright spots.
The faster easier and smarter play was to pass to the guy who was wide open five feet away facing the basket with his hands up ready to shoot.

Payton is a good player who's being enabled by the coach to live in a delusion and act out a fantasy where in he has the ability to consistently make low percent extreemly high difficulty level shots like a Steph Curry.

He doesn't have any where near that level of talent. If he did he would be in the NBA now. He's trying to fake his way into the league and it's ridiculous.

No other coach would encourage this type shot selection from this level of player.

Late 2nd round if he's listed. I would also add that there have been undrafted players who worked their asses off and became solid contributors. If that's him, then he's got lots to do.

Hesitant to start a new thread on this but a friend who’s got close ties to the program said Freeman is shutting it down for the year. Not sure if it’s injury related or not.

WTF, is he going on strike for a better payday?
I don’t think that’s the case. He’s already exhausted the year of eligibility. He’s probably hurt and playing through it and wants to get healthy since the season is realistically lost.

Market value, I.e. rumored offers though in the $1.2M range.

JBo wasn't the fastest or the best defender. But the difference between a bad D1 men's player and a great woman's player is vast. He'd eat her lunch and leaver her a tip, or his shoes.... lol

I don't know about that. She'd struggle to guard him, but there's no way he could stop her from raining step back/side step three's either. There about the same height, and I'd bet Clark has a longer reach. Plus she moves several ft back or to the side on that shot. He'd never even get a hand in her face.

Did you ever play against girls in high school? JBo would eat her up. She may not get a shot off if he really put in the effort. And I don't think she could beat him in horse either. JBO from the LOGO was the original (ok maybe Kingsbury). The dude has more range than Caitlin, sorry.

Why are we having this discussion? Boredom?

I would be 100% certain that Cooper Dejean would win in 1v1 with Caitlin. Bohannon and Caitlin would be a coin flip.

Lolol.. Like after the last three years you actually just posted, "did you ever play against girls in high school" in reference to CC22. Your kidding right? Clark was an elite national level soccer player and is not "some girl" . JBO is a decent athlete who had a really good jump shot. I would seriously doubt he could make shots from farther then Clark, (NOBODY in the NBA shot from an average longer distance then CC22 last season, and thats a fact), and the seperator is JBO was basically a stand still jump shooter. You never saw him take the kind of step back and huge side step three's that CC22 would make with regularity.

I agree with most of this but Bohannan was not a decent athlete. That’s why Caitlin would have a chance. He couldn’t guard anybody.

you normally have good posts, but I think you've forgotten how good JBo was. Clutch deadeye shooter. CC22 is/was great & also great shooter, but she wouldn't be able to match JBo strength wise. It's why trans-women don't play men's sports.

Match Bohannon strength wise?!? He’s not exactly Cooper Dejean.

doesn't have to be. she's a 150lb girl. back her down and shoot layups.

getting stops might be a little more difficult, but not impossible.
I’m just saying Cooper could guard her and force her to take tough shots and he could post her up. I’m not sure Bohannon could do either of those things against Caitlin.

Again my main point was a game of horse, and even one on one he'd have just as much trouble guarding her. Both from deep and she's driven the ball on better atheletes then him. Now if your going to allow him to just foul and push her then sure, but she could get past him to the rim with out major contact...

I remember who he was, but I'm still not convinced he could guard her either. He was also a sub par defender, and she would handle the ball and get his feet turned and get her shoulder past him, and that would be that. He also couldn't do a thing against her jumper, unless he was allowed to push or foul her. She's longer then he is, and he'd never be able to stop that step back/side step three that she tore up the womens game. Not to mention he's what 30 something with two surgically repaired hips, and shes in her absolute prime. Probably quicker, and stronger then she was at Iowa.

1. Payton Sandfort's overall field goal percentage made is 40.3%. For comparison, Freeman is at 63.8%, Dix is at 52.4%, Thelwell is at 55.5%, and Harding at 44.7% .
2. Payton Sandfort's 3 point field goal percentage made is 34.2%, or 53 made on 155 attempts. For comparison, Dix is 42 made on 93 attempts or 45.2% and Thelwell is at 25 made on 58 attempts or 43.1% . If you combine Dix and Thelwell numbers they are at 67 of 151 or 44.4%, a full 10% better than Peyton Sandfort.
3. Payton Sandfort has 41 turnovers, which is second to Brock Harding's 53.

You can make your own conclusions about the reasons behind Iowa's lack of success. Sure the defense can be awful, but is some of that a result of recklessness on offense? Should Payton play fewer minutes? He has the most played.

Well, you know, he's been injured, (wrist and shoulder) so.....

I think someone nailed it when they said the issue isn't with Payton per se, but with the fact that he doesn't play within his limitations AND the fact that Fran allows him to play like that. I feel like most of his shots are off-balance and not in the flow of the offense. Not only that, but he's a defensive liability who gets beaten off of the dribble repeatedly and badly every game and he's not really a big asset to the team. The sad thing is that he COULD BE with better coaching. He has plenty of talent.

30 something? He is 27 years old dude. That's prime for men.

Be serious, just because I disagree. JBO was never a good defender and Clark is elite with the ball in her hands. Those are facts. IF he you let him be physical. (if he's even capable of that), maybe, but no I don't think he could stop her going to the hoop and I know damn well he couldn't effect her deep jumper.

I am serious, there's no way she could beat him. It's a man against a woman and I am not sexist. There's a reason transgendered men want to participate in women's sports & not the other way around. The worst player on Iowa's current team would kill CC22 one on one. Sorry, it's facts.

But we will never find out & you can keep living your fantasy.

My fantasy? Okay then. Will just agree to disagree. There isn't a thing he could do to stop her from shooting those step/back threes. Nada, Nyet, not......He might win, but would not "kill her", not by a long shot...
