I’d have no problem with a gender neutral singular pronoun for persons.
Mx. works just fine as an honorific.
In general kids aren't getting surgery.....I've said this repetitively but no one is listening.
If the statement seems awkward to you, I see no problem with using their name or other appropriate substitute for the pronoun.
Realize this. Muchuch more hormones than surgery. Virtually no bottom surgery on under 18 crowd. But there have been a non negligible amount of mastectomies IIRC
So should there be subject-object agreement as well? What about determiner-object agreement?

They should be. The gender identity nonsense is hurting them just after they finally were largely accepted and had attained equal status. And the thing is, gender identity isn’t even related to homosexuality.

It's pretty comical to see all the people that think Republicans would stop attacking LGBTQIA+ rights if Democrats simply condemned the isolated "extreme" behavior that gets intentionally amplified by the right wing media machine.
I mean look at the Budlight boycott that the right wing outrage churned up. Did they target Budlight because the company advocated for gender reassignment surgery for teens? No, did they target them because Budlight sponsored family friendly drag shows? No, they targeted them because they had the nerve to send a transgender influencer a personalized can.
