Can anybody NOT figure out why college football installed the 2 minute timeout rule?

I actually thought that there were several fairly short commercial breaks, which is preferable to less frequent 3:00+ breaks.

It felt long to me too.

All games that I’ve been flipping to seemed to have lots of commercials.

There was a stretch in the afternoon games that I know I watched more commercials than football in a 30 minute stretch.

I did hear the networks said it would reduce break times.

I’m not sure how, but that is what the belief was.

Well, at least they're not calling it the "two-minute" warning a la the NFL.

Otoh, with some of Kirk's time management issues over the years that verbiage might have actually been useful for Iowa.
