Can the Hawks W the B10 tnmt?

Hard to beat a team 3 times in a row? Sounds very negative to me. Ask how the Iowa women feel about that after their 3rd victory over Indiana in the B10 championship game?
3 times within the span of 15 days. And by one more point each game. If anything that proves it's easier to beat a team 3 times in a row.

In college basketball over the last 10 years the team that wins the 1st 2, wins the 3rd, 71% of the time. That doesn't mean it's easy but it is far from rare.

Statistically, that's a myth. It's happens quite often.

If you have beaten a team twice--once at home and once on the road--you likely are the superior team. So yes, I would agree the 3rd game is still likelier a win. No doubt the winning percentage for 3rd game on neutral site is better than 50% or a coin flip---but it isn't 100%...but how much better deepens on a lot of factors.... Iowa doesn't have to play cornhuskers, so question is moot for now...but with Nebraska showing improvement it wasn't going to be a lock.

If Iowa ends up facing the Illini or Purdue in BTT, the question will come up again. I think being in the position of underdog is not a bad position psychologically.

I would argue Nebraska improvement and late season run started against Iowa. I said at the time that looked like Nebraskas best game of the year.

Those are interesting numbers. But one thing it does not show is how many of those were major mismatches. I think the idea of having difficulty beating a team three times in one year applies to teams that are competitive with each other. I would like to see those numbers only for games in which the point spread was 5 points or less in each game.

I'll bet the Big Ten Tournament is Fran's least priority. He's never embraced winning it, like some of the other coaches. If Iowa wins their first game and the next against Rutgers, I'll be a happy camper. Fran has never won 2 straight games in the BIG tournament. I'm just hoping Patrick's injury doesn't linger into the NCAA tournament, that would be so Iowa....
My thoughts exactly. If they get beat on Saturday, they'll have an extra day to rest and prepare for their first NCAA opponent. Don't get me wrong...I'd love to win the whole thing, especially if we could crush Wisconsin in the Finals, but there's no guarantee they'll make it that far.

Oh, what the hell! Go for it, Hawks!
