Can we get a definitive ruling on fanny packs?

I should clarify that I carry it everywhere during the week when I'm working. I have needed it many times. Most small towns I work in don't take debit/credit. If I need an oil change, being I drive 1200 miles a week on average. If I blow a tire in the middle of nowhere and need a new one, again small town auto shops usually don't take plastic. I blow 3-4 tires a year, 500 miles a week on gravel is no good on tires. If I'm in one of those small towns and need gas at a station that is cash or check only.
If I'm going out in Des Moines, no I don't carry a checkbook.
It's a different world out there. I am sort of shocked they take your non-local checks. For some reason I was under the impression that was an issue with check writing. I just got back from Italy and was surprised how much they use cash for everything.

If cargo shorts are wrong, I dont want to be right. They are awesome and the only reason they could have gone out of style is to allow pretentious pricks to have something to be pretentious and prickful about.

You can't wear them into St. Peter's.

I have a checkbook, but don't carry it around generally. Seeing that your credit and debit card info is always at hacking risk....maybe it's better to be a little more old school sometimes.
