The tiger hawk is the GOAT logo in sports entertainment and it gets pushed aside by the dumb ANF sticker. Like I said, please get rid of it. TIA.

I was at the Penn State game and if I had been a visiting fan, I would have thought that it was the Farm Bureau Hawkeyes instead of the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. It is getting so bad that Iowa State Fans are beginning to refer to Iowa as Moo U.
The way I heard it, ESPN invented that. At least that's what they think.

I’ll second this. This was a great idea in the 80’s. Now? It’s not very relevant or impactful.
I agree that the current ANF sticker looks pretty cheesy. I'd much prefer to make the 'blackout' helmet from last year our permanent helmet; The state outline on the back, with ANF inside. I thought those were spectacular.
Iowa State fans are trying to get rid of some of their negative monikers, since they keep picking up so many. They don't realize that you can't just hand them off to another team.
Can someome in Iowa tell is what percentage of the farms in the state are still family run, opposed to mutil thousand acre commercial farms? That answer could be a sign to end the sticker.

I wish they would put it on the back or take it off. Everyone knows we need farmers anyway. And I can guarantee you farmers are not nearly as financially strapped as many are and many are really loaded actually. If you are a land owner you have it made.
Maybe they could transfer it to the water tower.
You did know that farmers invented the 4x4. They work 4 weeks in the spring and 4 weeks in the fall.
Also ISU's "Actually Helping Farmers" might be the biggest little brother move ever.
Before I saw that sticker, I had no clue growing food was important. That sticker's educational value is truly a public good!
I'm curious, those of you who want to get rid of ANF , where did you grow up, if you are grown up ? What do you do for a living ? Do you pay taxes state and fed. taxes ?

The OP has to be an ISU troll. ANF sticker has been chaffing their bums for 30 years.
That won't happen until the massive tax payer funded subsidies and price guarantees go away.
Which won't happen until the big campaign donations from the wealthy farmers and their Farm Bureau union go away.

Which is it, the evil corporate mega farms or the monopoly guy farmer? My sister and her husband still run a family owned farm in eastern Iowa and they are middle class at best. The amount of misinformation combined with cynicism in this thread makes me want to vomit. We wouldn’t last a week without the supplies from the grocery store much of which comes from local farms, and you all would be crying like babies if they just dried up.
So I’m struggling to grasp the point here, so help me out.
Carefully reform those things and it still doesn’t change the fact that without farmers we all starve.. I might add that as much as I dislike unwise spending of tax revenue by the federal government, the farm subsidies are a necessary expense, I would like to see the government use them to focus on helping the independent outfits become more prevalent, but that means those lobbies you mentioned would have to be convinced or defeated.
I think a thing like the ANF initiative could help the market dictate something like that in the future much like the non GMO and Organic movement.

From some one whose inlaws have a dairy farm in Iowa, I'll just say"You've got to be kidding with that". You've obviously never been on a working farm in your life.
