I know nothing about cars so I'd appreciate your expert advice. TIA. Am looking to possibly buy a Buick Lacrosse. It has either a 2.4 V-4 or a 3.6 V-6. What do you recommend? Is the V-4 a good engine.? Thanks again for your help.

I'd go for the V6 myself. The V4 won't give you much power and you'll regret getting if quickly after driving off the lot. You will get better gas mileage in the V4, but its a V6 Buick, you'll still get over 20MPG with the V6 which is respectable in my opinion. I like Buick and would have pulled the trigger on an Enclave before our 3rd came along. Now I need a full size truck or a minivan. Buick makes neither.

My suggestion is this:

1. Test drive both.
2. How are you going to use the car- usually just you in the car or spouse and kids.
3. If you are leaning towards the 4, make sure to drive it with the air conditioning on. See how it responds.
4. I would go with the 6, but that is just me.

As someone who drives a 4 banger with AC in the summer, go with the 6 cyli

I have a 4 cylinder with over 200 hp. Much better mpg than the 6 too.

Don't buy a Buick.

Buy yourself an Acura and enjoy life.
